Cock Hero Aftermath

So this is not a post about starting a Cock Hero video, or the release of one. Instead, it's about something I've struggled with since the release of my first Cock Hero.
Because every time I wanted to start something new, I now get overwhelmed by the amount of work - that I'm now fully aware of - that will be up ahead. Let alone the high(er) bar I set for myself.
Not sure is being paralyzed is the right term for this, but that thought just stops me in my tracks of fleshing out a fun idea. Even something smaller like a pmv is a project I just can't bring myself to start with.
So here's my question. Has any of you dealt with this? And if you have, how did you shake it off? Would love to hear all your thoughts and experiences!

I think everyone struggles with motivation and feeling of being overwhelmed from time to time. Not only while working on CH videos but in general when it comes to other projects, work and hobbies. So if nothing else, know that you are not alone.
I can share couple of things that work for me:
1) Sometimes you need to give it some time. Step away from your project and return later when your mindset changes.
2) Split big projects to smaller chunks. Focus on the few simple tasks at hand and dont worry about the big picture now. You will get there eventualy.
3) Create "to do" list, over time add things that comes to your mind into it and mark finished tasks.
4) Get excited about your project. Think about all the amazing ideas you can explore and embrace the challenge. Write down your vision for the project as a design document.
5) It's either too hard or too easy. You want to maximize the amounth of time spent working on your project in a flow state. This state is achieved by balancing on the edge between total failure due to high difficulty and boring routine. Scale down or increase the complexity and difficulty of your project accordingly.

Don't let perfectionism get in the way. Perfect is the enemy of good. :) I go into each project knowing that I'll be poking away at it until it's done, and willing to settle for good enough. That takes some of the performance anxiety out of it for me. Then it's just a matter of doing a little each day. My time for it is limited, so often I don't get more than a few more seconds done of the video before I have to shut things down again, but that's another few seconds that are done. There's no deadline, so take the time you need. Make it about something you enjoy, because no one's paying you to do this anyway. It's like the adage about how to eat an elephant: one bite at a time.

In addition to all said above (which is all great info) set out a reward for yourself like a carrot. It doesn't have to be something major and even something aesthetic.
First as someone said - make a list - identify what you need to do/accomplish now, and then make a mental note of how/what you'll reward yourself with.
"I need to get through 8 videos to find the scenes I want. Once done, I will go out and get some icecream"
or go in the other room and 2 episodes of my favorite Netflix show
or take the dog to the park
or whatever. the point is youre notating in your brain something you are delaying the gratification from until after you complete the next task you've identified needing done.

Words I try to live by everyday, but it's so. damn. hard.
I do appreciate all the kind words. It helps to take a step back and see what all your thoughts are :)

My work in industry running serious projects with lives on the line taught me to deal with impossible projects without causing my own demise. Pseudomym has most issues covered, but in my work I found that number 3 needed to be number 1.
Start with a plan! Outline it the best you can in simple steps. In my position I had to have projects on time and done way faster than reasonable to keep the job. And the first steps were needed fast!
With the outline done first, you can then split a project into specific blocks of manageable sizes and if you have collaborators or others inputting ideas they now have a guide to stay within your expectations. This step just defines the blocks, they do not need to get completed till later.
Now is time to step back and think if this will accomplish the goal. (You can take whatever amount of time you have and adjust anything you feel needs it.)
Then on with the other steps when you are comfortable.
We all look forward to your upcoming production! Good luck!

I'd add one thing: dedicate a day or two to
start and try to do as much as possible: gather the material, start the project file, do a draft. Once you've started, it's much easier to continue. I see that with many projects I do for my work, and as a terrible procrastinator I know what I'm saying
I believe that the most difficult part of creating something is somewhere after having roughly 1/3 finished: the novelty has worn off and you need to keep working. I try to make sure that I can achieve some goal - like in 2) in Pseudonym advice. It gives you the sense of achievement as well as pushes your project forward.
And the last thing, cuz we are on Milovana: working on a project is a cruel denial, so place your daily rewards wisely
