Question about EOS.

Post by FATALES »

Is it possible for two people to work on one tease?
I could imagine some cooperation.
The last time I saw Tinder + tease by Longplay1 and and it gave me inspiration.
( I originally thought we would be able to chat with the girls and based on our answers a story will unfold. We will always be able to experience something different. )
If Longplay1 had a collaborator, his tease could have been more extensive.

Hi FATALES,

I have actually given this some thought myself, and while I don't think it's possible for a Google Docs style collaboration, I think it is still possible for two people to work on the same tease (albeit by taking turns). Here are some suggestions I have to make this collaboration process work effectively:

-Only one person should make changes at one time. To ensure this, communicate when you are going to work on the tease so that the collaborator knows not to make changes to their copy of the tease.
-Each collaborator should keep at least one past version of the tease in case a change needs to be reverted or something accidentally got deleted/broken. I do this on my own and it has saved my dumb ass a lot of work and headache on several occasions.
-Anytime you want to make changes to the tease, download and save the .json file of the current version of the tease first. Then upload it to Eos as a new tease.
-Once you have finished working on the tease for the time being, share the .json file of the new version with your collaborator so that they can update their copy of the tease and see what changes have been made. They should upload the file as a new tease rather than over their copy of the old tease.
-It may be helpful to keep a "changelog" page that is updated each time a change has been made so that it's easier to see what the other person changed. A "suggestions" and/or "planned changes" page might also help with communication and make the process go smoother.

This probably isn't the kind of answer you wanted, but what do you think?

Best,
Robls

Sharing the json-files work very well.
The json files are also human readable, so in case simultanious changes happen, merging them (even using tools like git etc.) might be possible. But you would need to be careful with things like deleting pictures or pages that are still referenced somewhere.
But taking turns is really easy to do.

Something like a private git repository would probably be a very good idea. That would give you all the tools needed to find and recover from problems, and it would make the process a lot more streamlined.
