The SSL certificate has expired so most browsers will not open the page, but it's still online.
For example with chrome you can accept the "risk" to access this page with an expired certificate.
These are internet basics and as a website hoster this should be the minimum amount of work you should do to keep your site safe and running.

I logged in today past the certificate warning and sent a note to BT.

Code 500 is usually when something is throwing a fatal error without enough output to form a valid http response. Could be something as bad keystroke in code, but more likely a database being cranky or a disk failure.
It will get sorted soon enough.

I hope so as missing the "community."
I know, right? SocialStim is a diverse group and very respectful of each other. There are things I can share on that venue that I don't say elsewhere.

It has probably something to do with bigtip not being active anywhere.

$5 says it's regular attacks on the site.
It was a shaky framework site to begin with, and I would believe it's a money suck to put together better security. It's the curse of no paid memberships and relying on ad clicks instead. I'd not be bothered by a biannual donation drive, though.
Dr Clockwork was the "webmaster", if I recall, BT was just kind of the power user people pivoted around. I have a IRL name from some old correspondence, and some google-fu led me to find someone possibly related in the same town who suffered a massive house fire. Combined with a global pandemic and folks at high-risk, I'm not surprised he's gone dark for a while with bigger things to take care of.
I did manage to find a ham radio call sign, so if you're into that, maybe its an avenue too?
edit: I have the archive bookmarked, at least.
