Hi All,
Does anyone know how to take a VR video that is intended to be viewed on a VR headset and turn it into a regular old video that looks nice and undistorted?

A lot of sites have a way of viewing it by moving the mouse to move the view around, as if moving your head. They use this for previews. Thats all I can say.

I tried once, but was not very successful. There are transform tools in (some) video editors that may be of use. Cropping to one side is obviously easy. The problem is adjusting the fisheye perspective to get a frame that looks normal. I've seen a mathematical theory paper on the subject, but the software was not free, so I'm trying to find something else myself too.

It's not easy since vr videos are not meant to be transformed into non-vr videos.
In particular vr videos are very close-up. Even if you don't notice you need to move your head a lot to follow the action.
So I guess I would try to use a tool like blender, put the video into world background and specify a rotation path for the camera?
This might work. But the final resolution would be horrible since you crop out most of the scene.
