Song for PMV

Hi everybody.

I am looking for original material. I think I need inspiration from outside source for the music.

To those interrested, submit a link to a song that you would like to hear for a PMV or a Cock Hero round and tell me, if you want, the concept that should be approched for the round.

I will choose the one that I like the most and build around it... if there is enough submission and one of them turn me on :w00t:

I will put your name for song and inspiration in the PMV intro.

Hope that this is something fun that inspire people to participate and help create something that they would like to see.

Nice and lengthy. I wish PMVs would use longer songs sometimes. My personal preference is mostly softcore, which I feel suits this song.

I'm not entirely clear from your first post if you are looking for original music (which we wrote) or just suggestions of music we like. Seeing Feist above, I'm guessing the latter  .

I also hope you don't mind me tossing down a handful of ideas, just to see if anything inspires you. If that's against the rules, just take the top artist I link :-P

I love a lot of music, and all the videos I've seen of yours have always been tremendous quality so getting any input is seriously tempting! Video editing and cutting is also something I've just never gotten into, so any ideas I may have had along the way are still just...ideas

I'm going to make some suggestions from the music I have on hand which I would love to see in a well made PMV. Most of these are going to be rock based, both because it's what I listen to most and I think PMVs with club music are already so common. I've tried to suggest tracks where the lyrics/tone of the song make sense to be put to something sexy.

To keep the thread cleaner I will link instead of embedding the videos since I have a number of suggestions. I hope something here inspires you! I'll add some loose notes of what I think of each song, but if you get an idea from one of them I'd rather you just run with it than trying to stick to what I wrote down.

Grace Potter & the Nocturnals
A female vocalist which I don't see enough of in PMVs, and she has a certain sexy, smoky appeal which I think could fit something softcore or female focused really well. I've picked a few tracks, so they might mix for a longer video too if desired.
Hot Summer Night - It's about a winter night feeling hot like summer, which could be a fun theme to flip back and forth with in hot or cool appearing scenes.
The Lion the Beast the Beat - this one has a nice build up from slow intro to the main part, which I see in a lot of PMVs
Paris - this song just oozes sex all the way through.
Turntable - strong beat and and the music theme/metaphors could be fun to play with in the video.

Big Sugar - Nicotina- A fun rock/reggae vibe all about stoking up the flame of a sexy friend. Maybe something building along those lines, going from very soft towards hard?

Sheepdogs - Feeling Good - A relaxed just feel good sort of style. A bunch of their songs could probably work to anything sexy and fun which doesn't get too intense or take itself too seriously.

INXS - Suicide Blonde - Surprise, this one might work rather well for a video featuring blondes.

Now for a few things in a harder style. I definitely like my above links for a PMV more than these, but a range of styles is good right?

Shinedown - Lady So Divine - I honestly have no idea what this should be set to video wise, but it's a longer track and the premise of a 'Lady so Divine' certainly fits.

Buckcherry - Crazy Bitch - A song about fucking and not much else. Would fit something hardcore and high intensity.

And a final suggestion which is probably more joke than serious but why not:
Nickelback - Burn it to the Ground - Just in case you want a track that's about getting absolutely smashed drunk, and probably about the only time I've ever went to listen to it is when large amounts of drink were involved.

Well, Helequin, the fact that you are asking this question surprises me. Do you write music? Could you compose or mix a Cock Hero track from begining to end, no hard cut (but smooth transitions) of sexy music? Music that could be "inspired" by other artists is ok, but the fact that the track is a well thought creation, has an intensity progression, some curve balls, an overall pleasing adventure would be a big plus in a production.

Having such an audio track, many video editors, would love to copy paste videos over it.

This was in either Round 2 of Flux 1 or 2.

If you're looking for inspiration, spend some time browsing ccMixter. Use http://dig.ccmixter.org/ first, then the search in header at http://ccmixter.org/ when you know who you want more of. CDK, via Analog By Nature, have a channel on Dlive.

I do play, but it's just a hobby. I wouldn't have the skill (nor the band mates, and definitely not the gear) to put together and record a track for a CH. In the OP Caius mentioned looking for 'original material,' so I wasn't sure how literal he meant it.

I agree though, getting music purpose composed for such a video would be quite a wonderful thing. On the other hand, sometimes too much choice is just as hard. If you can freely modify the music track and the video, it asks a lot more questions about which one to change to fit the other.

Writing original music for Cock Hero authors is a goal that I hope to achieve someday. I'm a composer and musician. I'm also an aspiring Cock Hero author.

I've already written music for my rounds in the upcoming Softcore Collaboration 2. My style of composition for Cock Heros ranges from New Wave to EDM, with an emphasis on melodic and rhythmic elements. I also sometimes heavily utilize extended chords and ambience if I wish to invoke a particular emotional response in the listener. It's far removed from my usual compositional style, save for the melodic ideas.

I have access to a high-end hardware synthesizer, but I haven't utilized it thus far, nor have I felt compelled to use it. If I find that the timbres my songs begin to sound stale and need some refreshment, then I'll use it.

If you're interested in my original music or want custom-tailored music for your PMV, let me know, either here or in a PM. :-)

This is very interesting, high_octane. Generally speaking, all people likes different styles, but having beats in the blood, skills to mix relevant partitions, and the ability to compose fillers so the whole audio track makes sense is clearly on a next level. That would take time to fine-tune, but who cares, right? We are used to wait for outstanding productions.

The possibility to have custom music for a PMV is next level IMO. I will keep that in mind.

Thing is that even if I am having fun doing PMV, It can become so time consuming that linking somebody else on a work of him, like designing the music, I want to offer some warranty on the final product, like quality and delay. Let put that on ice for now... but I would be surprise to see what kind of quality we could reach when mastering the music and the visual on a common goal.

Thanks for all the submission.

I want to build a PMV with Disengage song : Inside Out. It will be a softcore product, as suggested.

The nature of the song, and the lenght of it make it really interresting for a PMV.

So, Disengage, thanks for inspiration !

Also, thanks to Helequin for the multiple submissions. I definitively keep Grace Potter Turntable as a serious candidate for another PMV project in the future.

Can't wait to see the result, though I know it will take some time. I think it's a great pick of music track and should make for a great video. I alsp know the rock-based music I love is not always the best for video mixing/dance/etc.

Still, if you ever do use Turntable I will definitely need to see it. There are just way too many innuendos/cheeky little puns in the lyrics to not take advantage of. Or maybe it's just that I adore Grace's music and it's hard not to think of things when she's singing about putting hands on her hi-fi (or high thigh?) and putting a needle in her groove.
