Cock Hero Outrun The Redux is heavily inspired by the 80's retro aesthetic and the synthwave genre of music and it just so happens to be my first Cock Hero, with a lot of edits and fixes after my original release of Outrun.

It has 7 Rounds of varying difficulty, leaning towards the Easy-Medium side of things. Each round features a different girl, with a final showdown on Round 7! It features music from the artists, Kavinsky, Carpenter Brut, and Perturbator. So, if you enjoy any of those artists or just want to hear something new, definitely check it out!

I gave up on the original during the second round as the beats were way off.

Took a quick look at this one and there is a HUGE improvement. This video is playable now!

Despite being a gigantic cock hero fan, I have never been a huge beat meter purist. Sometimes I even download the PMV only version of things.

but I really liked the mix and feel of this when it came out, and MAJOR kudos for having done a rework so soon!

I feel that the beat meter severely detracts from the overall experience the majority of the time. After all, the rhythm that one keeps while playing is extremely subjective and can be highly variable from one user to the next based upon any number of factors. Even worse than the beat meter visual at the bottom of the screen is the annoying-as-hell, now-with-more-cowbell beat meter sound!

Personally I think the beat meter visual and sound is redundant and unnecessary considering that the tempo can be conveyed just as well through the music alone and without the "clutter".

One of the best examples of a "less is more" Cock Hero that I am aware of would be the beat less version of Cock Hero Redemption by Sopio. Awesome! I started to play that earlier version but the beat meter made it hard to follow. Been waiting for this.

I downloaded the original and was just about to give it a go when I saw this thread. Now I've played the redux and there didn't seem anything odd about the beat meter. I like the choice of girls and the choice of beats. The patterns weren't too short and they weren't too long either.

I do have one stylistic suggestion

Most CH mention tell you that the end is here and that you can cum. The cumshot round at the end here was almost obvious enough not to need it - except that I've seen a few CH with super fast endurance beats in the 2nd last round (and ones where the cumshot round involves a completely new girl).

Thanks for all the comments everyone, it great to hear that I did the beats properly this time, definitely won't be making that mistake again. I hope you all enjoy it when you try it for real if you haven't already!

I finally got to watch this one after the repairs. Excellent work all around. My only critique is that the last two rounds before the reward round felt a little light on stroking. Then I hit the reward round and understand why. Kleio Valentien is slowly becoming a new favorite of mine.

Just tried this today. I never tried the broken version, so can’t speak to the improvements, but I think technically, the beats were solid in this one. Hardly any that were off.

Overall, it was a little too slow paced for me, though there was some really cool music. My favorite round was actually number two, which had music that suited me and a higher pace, but I thought the music got a bit too slow and moody in a lot of the other rounds. Good music, but maybe a mismatch with the subject.

That said, the final chapter got me off right when it meant to, though the change to high speed seemed really abrupt after the previous rounds and the beginning of that one.

I would’ve liked to see more of a progressive build-up. I like the ones that try to make me blow it early, where it’s a contest of wills, while this felt more of an enjoy the experience and get off at the finish sort of piece, which is cool.

It’s an awesome first effort, though, and we all like different styles, so as long as there aren’t technical problems, I don’t want to knock it too much. It held my interest and got me off, and that’s better than a lot of others I’ve run into. :)

Thanks for the feedback guys, I definitely agree that it's a bit too easy before the ending. When making the beats it felt like I had to strictly follow the song and not artificially add in difficult patterns, but I don't think that has to be the case as long as it follows the beat. I'll also try and have better song progression, ramp up the BPM per round, instead of sticking slow songs at the end. Stay tuned!


Also, Kleio is fantastic, definitely one of my favorites as well. She will be making an appearance in my next CH!
