Consumer 180 Degree VR Cameras by End of Year

So apparently consumers will be able to buy cameras that can record 180 degree VR video at an affordable price point by the end of the year:

I think this might be a big deal for VR porn, perhaps we will get more amateur VR content, or more studios releasing VR content.

180 degree VR video is already used by a number studios in the porn industry and is less of a technical challenge than 360 degree VR on both the hardware and software side and well, just plain looks better than 360 degree VR at the moment. Also, as a straight man, there's no reason to look behind me while watching a VR porn.

I don't think that's a VR camera as it only has a single lens (per side) so it can only shoot 2D video. Unless there's something I'm missing here.

I believe there's a distinction between a 180/360 camera and one that can capture 3D VR images.
