I'm working on a domme personality for myself that I will probably release afterwards (or I'll release a separate one). There are a few pretty good personalities out there already though. What I want to know is:
1. What is one (or several) thing(s) that you hate in a personality and how should it be done
2. What is one (or several) thing(s) in a personality that you love that you don't think should be changed
3. What is one (or several) thing(s) in a personality that you think is good but could use more work or should be implemented further(elaborate)
4. Any other useful advice you recommend for a new personality
If you could, answer one, several, or all of the questions above to be able to help me and other personality creators out there know what you want in a personality.
You do not need to name any personality by name and if you do name one, please be respectful. My goal here is not to be disrespectful in any way to existing personalities but to learn from community feedback how to grow future and existing personalities.
1.
* Bugs. Nothing kills the mood more during a hot session than to have the personality bug out. If you try Spicy you can see there is a lot of awesome content, but it's nigh impossible to do all of it because many of the scripts just keep breaking. So spend test everything through, even if that means less actual content
* Too much idle time. Having a personality make me do "nothing", like resting for 5 minutes, or read up on something,... or make me do just plain boring things like typing a sentence over and over again... Tease AI is mostly a masturbation aid for most people (I think so at least), and having it to something like that just takes away arousement. Which can be a valid thing to do, but I think it should be done in such a way that the Domme at least should get some fun out of it. If you do want to have short breaks, keep them short. I tend to use a search tool to find all the Wait commands that seem long and shorten them.
2. I love that most Dommes do a pretty good job of treating the sub as a toy. They show you that you are just some amusement for them, and don't act like they care for you as a person that much. To often in femdom related media, the Domme is just doing whatever the sub likes having done to himself. But with Tease AI I've seen Dommes try to push the sub's limits, or just make him feel like he really isn't at all important. For example, when Spicy wants to start you on the first chastity period, she basically says something like 'well, you get to cum today, but I can't be bothered to handle that, so just go watch some porn after this session or something'
3.
* Having the Domme make you place clothespins or use string is good, but often they don't "remember" what they did. So if during some part of the session you have to place pins, and they don't tell you to remove them later (intentionally or just forgotten to add it to the script), you keep them on. But perhaps a few parts later, they'll tell you to add clothespins again. So it would be great if it could remember what it did and does not repeat itself or even mentions it in another part.
* Variety is obviously cool, but some system to prefer not-yet-used scripts would improve it. As most programmers know, 'random' tends to be pretty repetitive. Not just a system that excludes scripts you've already used until they are all used though (would use up the available content to fast), but a system that tries to make sure at least one new script is used during a session
* Some scripts test on some flags before they can get used (CBT level needs to be at least 3 for example), which is good to prevent people getting unwanted content. But often they also use a switch based on the level of something, like 'Apathy = 1' goto lotsofpain, Apathy =2, goto somepain, Apathy = 3, goto bitofpain But that also excludes 'lower level' content from ever being played. If someone is fine with a Domme that dishes out lots of pain for example, they'll probably also enjoy a script in which less pain is present. If I set a Domme to low apathy, I would still ike to enjoy the content that's behind bitofpain, if only for variety's sake.
* Some personalities have a fairly large array of possible replies to whatever you might say. But unless you really know what to say, it's often hard to trigger that content. Sometimes when I'm browsing through the scripts I find elaborate content I never knew existed, and I have to backtrack it to something the player needs to say with specific words in a specific situation. I don't think just showing the player every possible line is good for the immersion, but I think most people don't say much more than what's in the Lazy Sub list. So if you do decide to have a lot of player responses lead to content, please make sure that content is also available as 'random' content without going through that specific dialogue.
4. Try to make the personality configurable before they actually start being used. For example, House of Tease had a lot of cool content hidden behind some information that you needed to supply. But you could only provide that information when the Domme randomly asked the question. In the new versions, he added a script to just have you answer all the questions before your first session. Which is a far better way to unlock the content. Also try to find out if there are things that players really don't like to do and make them optional. For example, I really dislike the line writing, and I never perform the tasks some personalities send after a session, or how HoT sometimes has a 'disconnect' in which some other woman connects and tells you what to do. So perhaps flags to disable some functionality would be nice.
