Inquiry -- are my file indices interfering with your search results?

I just noticed that some of my Milovana post might be problematic for some Milovana users. They get in the way of search results. Anyone having this issue? If so, let me know, and I'll fix it. Suggestions?

Here's the description of the problem --

As you may know, I have a "sharing zone" on Mega (see .sig below), for which I regularly post and later edit-re-post the index listing of ALL the files that are in my zone. Initiallyy, I just thought this procedure would simply be a helpful way to share the information about the contents of my entire shared library. However, I've just noticed, that the many many lists get in the way of finding anything other than my lists! That's because, if you use Milovana's thread-search function to try to find a past Milovana thread about a particular cock-hero video, your first umpteen search-hits will be nothing bu my OWN listings of what I am sharing. You don't want to have to see "Book Guy has it; next thread, yup, Book Guy had it; next thread, yup Book Guy had it then, too; next thread, yup, Book Guy again ..." and again and again. Your search results aren't the THREAD about what you're looking for (for example, "cock hero corruption"); rather, you get five or ten hits that are all the SAME, my posts and re-posts of the fact that I SHARE the "cock hero corruption" file. Doh! If you wanted to find the thread, you'd have to winnow through my redundant posts.

Has this annoyed people? Should I fix it? Your best suggestions? Or, if it's not a problem, I won't go about changing things. Sorry either way, either (a) for causing the problem or (b) for bringing up something complicated that isn't really a problem.

This sounds more like a "forum search sucks" problem than a "that meddling book_guy ruined everything" problem. It's not unique to Milovana - crappy search is a longstanding Internet forum tradition. I consider it a miracle if I find anything useful in a forum search.

I wouldn't worry about it. Besides, in your example - if I'm looking for information on a specific CH, the stickied "Mapping the Cock Hero World" thread has links to everything.

So what?! :-D

After some clicks on the search-results, everyone should be able to figure out that:
Thread starter: Bookguy ---> Link goes to his collection.

... really not that hard to understand i think, search results have the thread-starter listed, plus the thread title (which is in your case self-explaining enough), ... it's very easy to just ignore the search results to your posts if one is searching for a specific topic.

Best greetings,
m

By using milovana's search commands you can search perfectly fine:
Place + in front of a word which must be found and - in front of a word which must not be found. Put a list of words separated by | into brackets if only one of the words must be found. Use * as a wildcard for partial matches.
So If you was looking for CH corruption and didn't want book_guy's posts, you would search for something like:
"CH corruption -book"
to get better results.

Alternatively you can always use google to do a site search eg:
"CH corruption -book site:milovana.com"
