I planned to make a round from it.. but i am too damn lazy and i am still considering if i should do it since it's really time consuming.
What is your opinion on my video? What is wrong.. what is good.. I was planning to make more story driven CH.. i have shitload porn on my drive but i dont want to make something shitty and unnecessary.
Thaks!
Your video is terrific - I loved the editing and the theme that you wove through it. You also did a good job escalating the content so it felt more intense as it went on. I would love to know what movies you sourced from.
I think I can help with the laziness! I just came off my first project after having the idea of producing a Cock Hero video gnawing at the back of my mind for months. The prospect of the huge time commitment put me off of it for a long time. Here's how I broke down my project and actually got it done:
1. Attitude - It's not a job, it's a hobby. Always remember that you're not grinding away at a job. Take a relaxed posture when editing and enjoy the process. Once I threw the mental switch that video editing is a relaxing hobby for me, I stopped looking at it as work and became much more productive.
2. Discovery - Listen to a lot of music and watch a lot of porn. This step is pretty fun. As I encountered songs and videos I thought would work really well in a Cock Hero video, I started putting all the content into a folder. I also started listening to the music during my commute which both helped inspire me and kept the project in my mind every day.
3. Start throwing stuff together - Pick a first song and video(s) and just start putting something together. For me, getting my third round completed felt like a big milestone - once I was that far in, I felt like I had a "real" project and had momentum. It also helps to not be a "perfectionist" when you start editing. Leave the polish for later - just get stuff DONE so that it feels like you're making quick progress. In your case, you already have a round done. I bet if you just do two more, you'll feel a lot less lazy about the idea!
4. Save the beats for last. It's the least fun part of the project, so it's easiest to tackle once you have all the video editing completed. By the time you have a fully-edited video, you'll be able to see the finish line. A round of beats takes less time than a round of editing, so now you'll see rapid progress. In my opinion, text prompts with a metronome are preferable to a beatmeter (and easier to implement) but that's a matter of personal preference.
5. Render your video frequently throughout the process and re-watch what you've done so far. I found watching my own material motivated me to make more, and after multiple viewings I would start to notice areas that worked a little better than others, giving me opportunities to go back and polish.
6. Don't be afraid to scale back - If all else fails, there's nothing wrong with doing a 10-20 minute video. There are lots of times when I prefer watching shorter videos, or start one of my favorites halfway through. By making your project smaller, you'll get feedback quicker which will also help to motivate you. You can always do a 2 or 3-part series of shorter videos.
7. If you give up on all of the above, feed me your ideas!
I hope you decide to give it a try. You're obviously talented and the world needs more Cock Hero!
