Has anyone besides me noticed that the PM exchange can sometimes be quite slow?

I have 2 PMs in my Outbox - one from 6:30am this morning and another from about 2 hours ago.

The first one is a somewhat time sensitive response to a query from another site member, so I'd really like to see it delivered.

Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

I think the PM stays in your outbox until the recipient logs in / opens the inbox (not sure what actually triggers the delivery).

As far as I was aware the intended recipient has to look at their inbox, but I don't think they actually have to open it... Could be wrong though!

Ah...that may be. Okay. I didn't know that; but it makes sense.

Delivery is triggered the moment it's opened by the recipient. It's nice as you can edit the PM if you decide you want to change a bit even after you send it, though the person reading it will see "x edits have been made."
