What device do you use to watch Cock Hero videos?

I'm watching all of Cock Hero series on my smartphone, what's your experience? I was thinking about this topic today because i'm making a CH video and finding FullHD stuff isn't always that easy but do you always demand that high quality? For me 720p is sufficient. Thanks for info guys.

i don't think screen size is strictly determinative of what people see as adequate; i also think 720 is totally fine and i view on a desktop/regular monitor; i would much rather have a smaller file than super-duper definition

Agreed on the level of definition -- I think 720p is enough, and I think a lot of concern should go into reducing the file-size to about 1.5 Gigabytes at most, maybe 2 Gb if you're presenting something that's a full hour long. I don't like what I consider to be super-fuzzy images (an abstract concept at best; no, I won't try to define it, it's a judgment call), which can happen below 720p; but I also don't like what I consider to be unreasonably large files (also a relatively indefinite judgment call).

I'm surprised anyone would use a mere smartphone for a CH experience. Dude? UPGRADE MAN, it's WORTH IT. :w00t:

I have gone so far as to create quasi-oculus-rift experiences, in which I set things up so that my face is as reasonably close to the monitor as makes sense, so that the images cover my whole field of vision but don't get distorted in my perception. I think a smartphone or smaller screen would pretty much ruin the experience. My field of vision, at its best focusing distance, for my older eyes, with my preferred eyeglasses, is about 1 or 1 and a half, maybe 2 feet away -- usual book-reading distance, or less. Hence, a screen of about 17 inches diagonal also seems about right. So, I set up my seat or bed or wherever I'm going to be, such that my face will end up about that distance from the screen of a large-ish laptop or similar. These set-ups have included: (1) using a short chair in front of my desk, with the monitor dragged right to the edge of the desk and the chair dragged pretty much underneath it so my knees are beneath the desktop; (2) suspending, by a couple of medium-strength lines, a rack that holds the laptop, from off of the top of my bed's headboard, and putting the laptop in that rack upside-down, so that when I lie down under it the screen can be dangled to exactly the proper distance from my face, and then using the graphics-processor settings to cause the video to play upside-down as well, thus counter-acting the fact of laptop having been inverted; (3) lying with my head and upper back propped up a bit, underneath a rather short bench, with the laptop on top of the bench smack in front of my face ... etc.. Often I also use fairly high-quality headphones too, to shut out all other sound. Then I get ready to go, disconnect the phone, turn off the lights, strap in, lube up, push play ... and plan on being mind-blown by the overwhelmingness of the arrangement.

Too much info? :innocent:

For me, anything less than 720p feels a bit off, but that's because I'm used to watching anything and everything in 1080p where available. Unlike probably a lot of people, I've got the bandwidth and storage space to spare, so I really couldn't care less if someone ends up at 5 gigs for a 30 minute video. For me, the biggest thing quality-wise is consistency: if you're going to encode at 1080p, you need to be using 1080p sources only or very high quality upscaling, or else the quality changes become obvious between sources.

Best bet overall is probably to target 720p and use 720p sources where possible.

Edit: I should say that the quality is still not a huge factor for me in terms of enjoyment; some of the best rounds of all time are sourced from 480p. Getting the encoding right matters, but don't put all your effort into it. The content matters much more.

to me, the desire to limit file sizes is simply general economy, not really an issue with my total storage or bandwidth

plus >720 is largely lost on me, as it is for some portion of people, particularly for those who have poorer than 20/20 vision and aren't using huge screens.

but in any case as the above post puts it best "content matters much more."

720p at minimum, 1080 preferred. 52" TV w/5.1 surround sound... once you try that it's game over for any other setup (unless its a BIGGER TV!!)

I watch mine from a 28" monitor and I interpolate the video im watching to 60fps using Smooth video project (it's revolutionary, I cant go back to 28fps porn anymore. here's a video demostrating what it does to anime; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHPVDXwMxiA)

I have to watch on my PC screen because it's too easy to get distracted by other shit in the environment with a smartphone. I have tried one of the more intense CHs on my smartphone when traveling, but it wasn't the same.

The slower one (24 FPS, it claims) looks better to me than the faster (60). Uh ... :-O
