Hey everyone!

I'm thevladtepes and inspired by the different existing "Fap Hero's" (Fap Hero, Gu's Fap Hero 1 & 2, Startrack, Paradise) I recently decided to give it a try and make my own Hentai CH.

I had 0 experience with video editing so it was (is) quite a challenge for me, but better to try and fail then not trying at all.

I applaud you making an effort to benefit us all. That being said...

1) Its hard for me to describe my hatred of the heavily censored anime porn. I know some people do like it, although I can't explain why.

2) Without at least an audio beat meter, its not CH, it's just a PMV.

First thing first, there will be audio beats and beatmeter for every round of the final product, as you pointed out it wouldn't be a CH otherwise.
I just never intended the trailer to be a CH himself and thus didn't implement those features. I only wanted it to be a sneak peek at the hentai and music style Fap Hero Genesis will feature.

Now I wonder: was that a fault?
Would it have been better to make it more similar to the rest of my work in progress, beatmeter and all? Or maybe I should have found a way to make the difference between trailer and finished CH clear.

I'll bear those thoughts in mind for after FHG, when I'll tackle a second one.

The second point tough... I can't really tell if you have trouble with hentai itself (in which case this video just won't be for you) or censorship. Or both.

Even assuming censorship is the problem here, I'm afraid I won't be able to do much about it. While it's mostly irrelevant to me (I generally don't even notice the censorship), If I had equal access to censored and uncensored version I'd go with the uncensored one.
But that's the real problem here : getting high resolution hentai to work with can already be hard, getting high resolution uncensored version is at best extremely difficult, and most of the time straight out impossible.

While I don't share your disgust for censored porn, I can understand it.
Sadly I won't be able to do much about it.

Regarding beat meter and what's "required" forgive me but, audio indicator, visual indicator, textual indicator ... etc. ...

1. "audio" indicator can be
A. a background song that has a discernible rhythm to it, or
B. a sound effect, such as a cow-bell or click or whoosh, which repeatedly sounds at chosen intervals, or
C. both A. and B. playing simultaneously (often with B. sounding "under" or "behind" A.)

2. "visual beat" indicator can be
A. a pulsating line like an EKG ping indicator or a progressing sine curve, or
B. a straight line punctuated by markers, like a ladder
(with A. and / or B. moving either horizontally or vertically)
C. a single dot that displays a color which indicates something (green=fap, red=stop, f.e.)
D. item C. which also is moving somewhere (and the motion indicates something else, maybe)
E. a blinking dot or flashing signal of some other sort which blinks or flashes in time to the required beat
F. a blinking or flashing thingummy which does not match the required beat, but instead simply indicates somehow a change in beat pattern by means of the character of the blink or flash ("fast blinking means fap at will, no blinking means stroke the balls" etc.)
G. a picture ("do not fap!" with Captain Picard holding his hand, then "fap now!" with Woody the smiling Western figure from "Toy Story," remember that one?)

3. "text cues" in ADDITION to the "visual beat" (above) can be
A. on-screen language which states a "name" (often numerical, as "1,2, 1-2-3"; sometimes verbal, as "normal" or "fast" or "super-fast") of an upcoming beat pattern, appearing on the screen before or at the initiation of that new beat pattern
B. on-screen language which states a "name" of the PRESENT beat pattern, appearing on the screen during the entire duration of that beat pattern (I very much appreciate item 3.B. here and would recommend it for most CHs if unobtrusive)
C. items A. and B. displayed in sequence (and probably looking very much like one another)

I think there are probably more possibilities.

My point here is that this conversation is getting derailed because (I think) we're getting confused among items 1, 2, and 3 above.

For a video to be a "true" Cock Hero, which of the above are "required"?

I personally think that the ONLY requirement is that the video INSTRUCT the viewer in what the mandatory beat pattern is. Something in the video (or an attendant file accompanying it) has to indicate, "Now you must stroke like X" and subsequently "Now you must change from X to Y." If the indication is made by means of auditory, visual, textual, or smoke-signals I don't care. So long as the viewer is REQUIRED TO MATCH the pattern, and it changes in a way that requires the viewer to go out of his way to follow the instructions in order to match it, then it's a Cock Hero. (Smoke-signals! Uh, umm, it could even be olfactory ... ?)

So long as it also has some kind of porn, tease, hotness, stimulating content, and so long as the beat-indicator is meant to indicate fapping TO that beat, then what's required is, required beats, as indicated by a beat requirement. 'Nuf said.

book_guy, while I appreciate the way you have described and itemized the various elements of Cock Hero and Cock Hero-like videos, your post seems out of context in this thread. Other than jstwolf saying that this trailer is really a PMV and thevladtepes explaining that he did that on purpose because this is just a trailer, I haven't seen any other posts in this particular thread that are debating the elements you've listed. I have seen it come up many other times in other threads, however, and since you brought it up, I will just say that the ONE thing I want in a CockHero video more than any other is the element you have identified as 1B.

1B and 3 are the two things that have been present in CH from the beginning (lalaland), and without 1B, I find it hard to play at all (beat meter or not), although I'd admit that a combination of 1A and 2 can come approximately close.

Yeah, you're right, I got a bit carried away there ... somehow I thought it was more germane to the thread. Heh ... anyway ... I also like 1B (click or cowbell sound) and really prefer any PMV or CH that purports to have "instruction" to deliver the instructions AT LEAST by means of that. I also (as mentioned) really appreciate 3B (the NAME of the present pattern appears unobtrusively on-screen DURING entire duration of that pattern) because it means you can look down to verify that you're doing the right thing, and you can look down at ANY point during the video, rather than HAVING to be watching the beat-indicator part at the right moment (and therefore perhaps missing a preferred portion of the hotness action).

Sorry for the hijack. I am sure there have been more nerdy posts, but this must rank among the most.
