Frequency of Teases

Hey all.

I've tried to stay active in the forums, but my output of teases has been seriously impeded by real world work requirements. But, I do have some new stuff in the works: the next installment of The Neapolitan Queens, a couple of new Mr. Pro scenarios, and a couple of standalones, including a Flash tease for which I finally have the photos.

Here's my question. In the case of the series teases, I can put one out when I am done with them, keep them trickling out, or I can create them, then post them all at once. On the one hand, I keep the series going, on the other, it could be a couple of months before I can post the whole thing. Which do most prefer?

Caveat: I reserve the right to do what I want one way or the other, but I am interested in your input.

It's been my experience that series teases get better response from the reader if they are posted consistently. Not necessarily all at once, but every few teases, or so. It allows the reader to think upon what they've already read, and builds suspense, if there is a lingering feeling of an unfinished conflict. That being said, I hate waiting! :w00t:

A good friend of mine recently told me to do what I felt was right. Don't do it for the readers, and definitely don't do it for the votes. Do what feel right to you. I've read several of your teases, they all seemed well thought out. I'm sure whatever you decide will ultimately yield greater success than what everyone else wants.

Good luck!

Nice.

This was the point of the caveat at the end of the post.

I do appreciate your encouragement. Thank you.

I should point out that your poll questions were a little mixed up, you have '1 at a time, I don't like to wait' and 'all at once, I can wait'. :-P

I'd say do whatever you prefer first and foremost, but my opinion would be to do them one at a time. When I see one or two new teases I'll do them both. But when I log on and see like 8 or 9 new teases posted, I'm only likely to do the 1 or 2 that look most appealing and come back another time for the ones skipped (if at all).

That being said, if the first part(s) of a series catch my interest, I just might stick around for the whole thing.

Just my opinion.

I think you should get all your teases done and then release them on a schedule. If a daily series comes up I like them to be released daily so i can play along and not rush through all of them. It adds a little realism to series' debut and a little suspense for those who get in on the ground floor. I wouldn't want more than 3 days between teases, unless the tease told me exactly when the next one was coming (or it was weekly based).

thats what i think
