There's probably some dont have it but I had it and that's why I wanna share. I basically grew up with porn and that's not healthy for a young individual to grow up with watching. I believe many here share the same situation but they are not aware of it. Reason I even came to this place in the beginning was because I came by it when watching porn. I hope this can help some few individuals if they take time to read. And to the one's who not bother or dont believe they got an addiction I just hope you dont fool yourself. It's easy to do when you addicted to something. Well good luck to you all.

I would say all of us here definitely do.

But rather than try to stop addiction, I encourage people to improve their own awareness and go towards the things in life they find truly easy and move them toward their own bliss.
So meditate every day. You know deep inside what is truly right for you.

That site is utter horse shit, and has zero scientific backing, nor basis. It's purely an opinion piece, funded by a certain section of the community who have problems dealing with anyone gaining sexual satisfaction.

Correlation does not imply causation. Yes there are people with porn/sexual/masturbation addictions, the same as there are people with drug addictions, or stealing etc, but watching porn in & of itself doesn't create the addiction.

The site makes very good points. Many people are struggling. The site is for helping those people. You don't have to follow it if you are not one of those people. it is addressed to ADDICTS.

Looks like a very one-sided web site made by some people who seem to have a problem with the consumption of porn in general.

Precisely, I don't see the need in shaming or guilting people into watching less porn. As long as people are able to separate the fantasy from reality in porn I don't think there's any real harm in it.

I've learned so much about myself and life through exploring this site and my sexuality. And I see that as a very good thing.

That completely ignores the fact that it has no scientific backing of merit what so ever, making it simply opinion. Even if I had an addiction & wanted to sort it out, I wouldn't trust a group of people operating on opinions to help me; I'd seek help from somebody who knew what they were dealing with, and had tried & tested methods (or at least a scientific approach to exploring the currently unknown) for dealing with my problem.

And this is my main gripe with most anti-porn and masturbation. the idea that shame or guilt will help you. It's a very old idea and actually progresses you farther into addiction.
I dont find YouBrainOnPorn to be shaming, though. But many people who are anti-porn are very shaming and thats a problem.

The definition of addiction is used too loosely in my opinion (in general). The definition of addiction includes the act as being harmful, or the pursuit of the act being harmful. Ie you neglect other, necessary life functions in favour of your addiction.

Yes, porn/sex can be addictive.
Yes, Donuts can be addictive.
Yes, Milk can be addictive ...

Seriously, anything can be addictive. However, just because 1 person happens be prone to the addiction of an item, does not immediately make that item an addiction to all others who are (responsibly) enjoying it.

We all have different sex drives. We all enjoy sex to different extents.

The question of whether it is an addiction or not, answer yourself two simple questions:

1) Am I harming myself with what I'm doing?
2) Am I neglecting or avoiding doing something else I should be doing in favour of this?

If yes to either of those, you might have an addiction ;)

(All this is just my opinion of course - I'm not a PhD, or anything. I'm a I.T. Professional with a happy wife, and a kid in university. )

Enjoy yourselves ... but don't hurt yourself or others doing it.
