That sounds kind of like the roomies from hell storyline. It might be what you are thinking of even if it isn't what the original question was about. I think that one had an epilogue like that a few years or months in the future.

No, it wasn't that. Similar feel, but in the story he's talking about, the epilogue described the guy as being just completely ineffectual, like his entire life boiled down to nothing more than bringing Jessica's drinks. I mean, I think...

No no, it's an old story by a writer named SM, it's called "The Bitchy Tease", though it also made the rounds under "The Tender Bitch". It's just a very long text story from back in the day, used to have it's own site, then ended up on Altairboy. Three of the parts can still be found pretty readily it seems, but the part with Vanessa and the Epilogue eluded me when I went a lookin' for it.
