animated gif based teases?

So, was doing some searching around about this - I think some teases do use a few animated gifs but was curious what you guys thought about a tease using mostly/all animated gifs. I've been toying around the idea for a bit, mostly because I think it would be visually very stimulating and personally, would be a bit more manageable and flexible compared to having short video clips.

My idea is basically to have animated gifs in conjunction with custom sounds to either be a major part of a tease or something as a "finale" near the end of teases. Please participate in the poll and let me know your thoughts!

I've always thought video clips are annoying in teases. Short gifs in the style of those on http://theworstdrug.com work great, when used for edging/stroking screens. If the tease has a story, I think it would be weird to use anything but static images in parts that only have dialog.

Also I'm really happy you're doing teases again! Awesome Competition 2 is my favorite tease. Looking around in the source code, I found the round with Irene that you had edited out and added it back in the version on my computer. :)

Trouble with gifs is that they have to be small in size due the file size limit for uploading - of course you could use my chrome addon to use external images to get around it:

Thanks lestrian - just following around, experimenting with some different formats. Trying to mix up some things.

Video clips in teases if done right, are cool. The issue is that it's quite a bit of trouble looking for the exact sequence, editing out the sequence, exporting out a version that has quality but is small in size, etc., etc. I figure, if you were to find an appropriate video sequence, why not make an animated gif and use whatever sounds you want for that scene, right?

Thanks Slutastic for the advice. I actually wasn't planning on putting a tease out on any of the Milovana formats for that main reason. Also, as much as I like Flashteases, I'd rather just use TeaseMe as it has been functionality overall (then again, FlashTease hasn't been updated in ages).

I think one of the hardest things about including an animated gif in a tease is that it would look best if it looped perfectly (end of gif naturally leads to start of gif) in order to prevent jumpyness in the image if the page lasts longer than the gif. It sounds really cool though and I would love to see it in a tease :-D

Huh... would that be a big deal? I mean, ideally of course we would like to have animated gifs to loop perfectly, but how much of a deal breaker is that?

The solution is to run the frames to the end and then reverse the frames back to the start to avoid ANY jumping - of course this does make the gif larger in size - how ever you can always cull some frames out to get a smaller size again :-P

OOOH! That's how it's done!

Heh, I've been fooling around making some animated gifs and have been wondering how they hell some of these gif animators perfectly loop some of the animations. Good to know.

Now, back to square one with animating gifs. :look:

I personally have no problem with gifs that don't loop perfectly. It's no different than fast cuts in a CH or rewinding a video near the hottest part. On the other hand, I think that gifs that play once and then reverse are weird unless it's done very subtly. Playing human movement backwards is uncanny valley stuff.

You cant tell that the gif is playing backwards, if you do it correctly :-P

Its just a matter of figuring out what looks natural but with most sexual movements they look correct no matter which direction they are played in.
