This person didn't get scammed, but is merely looking to have other people click the link. The same content of the original post in this thread was sent via pm to many members of this site. Do not click the link. Do not try to reason with or feel bad for the "victim", because that is the one trying to get people's money.

What's the "key word" in this one that you know it's a referral code? Is it the '/go/' part? Do you know what that '.subjaps' means? I'm just interested

Most referral codes are a string or numerical value after a site address in this case the g1394299 -
most web sites would rather have a word(s) that describe the page to get better hits on google if they use "mod rewrite" to rewrite the url you are visiting.

You can tell that url has been rewritten by the whole address after the site name including the .subjaps which is not a familiar format to end in (something the site has made up)

the original address would look something like this:
index.php?go=g1394299 or maybe index.php?go=1394299 <- 1394299 will be there user id number

So the answer is why link to /go/g1394299.subjaps why not just link to http://alt.con/ :)
