How do you rate teases?

What do you rate teases based on? How hot you find it? How well the author stays in character? Whether it panders to your particular fetish? How hot the model was? I could go on, but you get the jist.

I often don't rate them, because I feel it's unfair for a tease to lose marks simply because some of the slides weren't really my thing, you know?

Is there a generally accepted norm for what to base your ratings on?

No special categories, just general feeling once i am through.
Never rate below 4 stars though as i still appreciate the effort anyway and just don't rate at all when I do not like a tease.

I also have only ever given 4 and 5 star ratings. If I don't like a tease I just leave it, and if I make it to the end then I figure the tease must be at least good, if not great.

As for my personal tastes, I have always gone for teases that take some time to establish a setting and a plot, instead of just jumping right into "I am your mistress now do X."

Beyond that I think my tastes are pretty standard. I want a tease with beautiful women, and I want the writing to be descriptive and in good form. I can cut some slack for minor mistakes, especially from authors that clearly speak a primary language other than English, but I have never understood why some people can't be bothered to use capital letters or run their writing through a spell check.

Call me the grammar police if you want, but that shit IMO can easily ruin what may otherwise be a fine tease.

It's quite a while since I last rated a tease, but I used to focus on the writing/editing, because setting/model etc. are subjective. Especially for flash teases I kept looking how well the tools given (timers, multiple buttons etc.) are used.

I'm no native speaker, but spelling and/or grammar mistakes can ruin a tease for me, too.
The worst mistakes which tend to happen quite often and easily ruin a tease for me are the wrong use of following words:
your/you're
they're/their/there
we're/where/were
lose/loose

I basically only rate 5 stars to teases I really liked. I don't rate other teases at all.

I have given bad ratings to teases before but it is usually only to the teases which are 3 or 4 pages long and have an alteria motive such as advertising or looking for a dom.

If a tease contains anything that I don't like for a personal reason or preference then I will not rate the tease as I know it is obviously not written for me. So this includes the likes of a surprise shemale or a particular kink that does'nt apply to me.

Totally agree with this.

Another thing I find off putting is when there is a mass of writing on one page. It could be great writing but I can quickly lose intrest if it is not broken up. So I would end up not rating this tease at all.

I think some things which may reduce a 5 or 4 star tease to a 4 and 3 star is consistent mistakes in spelling and grammar which as some people have said can ruin a mood. Also teases that are too short. No matter how well written a tease is I don't think I have seen a tease under 15 pages that deserves a 5 star rating. Not to say I would give it a poor rating, I'm sure most may still deserve 4 or at worst 3 stars.
However I think you should give teases (that are genuine attempts to create a tease, which is the majority) a higher rating anyway as I think alot of good teases get a lower rating than they deserve.

Same here. 5 stars or I simply do not rate it at all.

If everyone give 5 stars, or does not rate, then the ratings have no meaning.

I give a lower star rating if it gets boring due to long rest periods, or the same picture is used over & over etc.
Also, the mystery timer gets overused, and if it is done at a boring section, that is a downer too.

The best 'rest' sections have a continue button if you feel you don't need a long rest.

If a tease is just not my style then I won't rate it.

I rate them on the following factors (in no particular order):

originality
photos/images which were used
how long a wait between each advance when it is a flash tease
spelling and grammar
whether it looks like they tried at all or not
