You need to think about the practicalities a little bit. Be sure you can tolerate wearing it before posting off the keys. It sounds like you haven't "broken it in" yet and made sure your body is ok. If you stuck in it even one scratch can start to be a problem.

Location of lock - if it is at the top, it is out of the way. If its on the bottom it may start to rub a lot on your balls or thighs.

I am still curious what kind of chastity cage/ device can

I seriously doubt putting it bellow is a viable solution for long periods of wearing, for two reasons:
a) anything down there is susceptible to irritation, so even the tiniest chip, pinch or missalignment, any imperfection can turn from pleasant to anoying and/or painful in a matter of seconds. And yes, that aplies to somewhat rounded (but not quite) edges of the padlock too.
b) It will simply get in the way, especially when sitting, and again, it will not be pleasant (unless you are seriously into 24/7 CBT, but really...)

Finally, as mentioned above, you really, really should try it on with your key at hand for at least a few day, to see if your body agrees with it, before you give up your way to get out.
