Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on this..

I only found CH and this forum by chance, and I suspect many other guys here came across it the same way. Looking at the size of the online porn world, i think its fair to say that this tiny community is a relative speck on planet Earth.

I kinda like the way the community is so small. Everyone is able to connect and comments etc are actually heard by authors. Makes for a really interactive forum and watching the improvement in quality of these videos over the year has been really interesting.

However, movie production is fairly slow.. because there are only a few of us who are actually talented enough to produce videos.... and I can't help thinking that a million other guys would be interested in making videos, and some of them probably extremely talented at it too... only, they have never heard of CH and don't know it's here.

I have to say, in the year i have known about this genre, it has completely changed internet porn for me, and i'm sure it would be the same for many others.... but, not if they don't know about it..

So in a nutshell... are we better off that the community is small and really interactive? or would we be better off if the word was put out there in some way, bringing in lots of new faces and I'm sure increasing the amount of videos made tenfold?

Anyone got any thoughts?

I think the community is growing nicely. Even the CH videos with medium success are getting ~2000 downloads on the torrents now. My problem is that a lot of people are just downloading the videos, and very little feedback comes back from them as they aren't registered users (at least in my experience with videos so far).

Just made an account because of this comment to give some feedback, I stubled upon cock hero (it was flux episode 6) on pornhub a couple months ago and have been hooked ever since! Every time I look at other porn I think of how it might be in one of these vids!

I think its great that the community is growing, and maybe its just because its summer and people have more time over I feel like the rate of new stuff getting released is increasing, with pretty much one new cock hero every week, which is fantastic. My only concern would be the porn idustry trying to shut it down because of copyright or whatever.

It would be a shame to have these forums become closed to unregistered users to keep it hidden. Maybe the idustry can copy some of this stuff, I would gladly pay for a site with more regular updates and scenes with a host specifically filmed for the purpose of teasing during breaks, giving encouragement during the scenes and what-not! I think this was discussed already in another thread tho. :)

It's hard to grow a community for niche-porn since it's not exactly something you talk about in casual conversation

But like you said, having a smaller community does have it's advantages. All of the creators get to hear all of the feedback from the fans, creators can work together, and new releases are easy to keep track of.

Honestly instead of growing the community I'd prefer to train some of the existing members in video editing so that all of the great ideas people have actually get made, instead of just whatever the handful of creators have time for. People have been requesting CHs themed around some specific pornstars for forever now, but they never get made b/c no one over backs up their request, so creators are disinclined to make a video with a very small audience.

We all have those wonderful tutorials to refer too, but sadly they all require expensive (or illegally downloaded) software to make. For video I use Windows Movie Maker (limited and annoying at times, but free and easy to learn) and for audio I use Ableton Live Lite (Akai edition), which I fortunately already owned before making a video (it's in the pirate bay if you really don't want to pay for it).

Honestly I could care less about how many new viewers come on to this forum, but I'd love to see new authors pop up, and I'd love to see old members become authors

Maybe the idustry can copy some of this stuff,

Producing a good video takes a lot of time. "The industry" wants to make money, fast and easy.

I think Cock Hero has a great deal of artistic value as a genre. The artists that are currently creating videos seem to share enthusiast motivations, similar to the type of many open-source software developers. Advancement of the genre and the community that surrounds it is being driven by this shared enthusiasm/drive/interest, with fandom taking a lesser role.

A few points I'm thinking about from your question:

• Increasing the quantity of videos created.
• Continuing improvements in quality of the videos created.
• Increasing the number of people that benefit/appreciate the Cock Hero genre.

Unfortunately conversion of fans to artists is difficult... although the skills are relatively easy to learn, as Jupiter noted, significant barriers exist to obtaining the tools and experience that would lead to new high quality content. Lowering the entry costs/difficulty for becoming a capable Cock Hero artist, would help the conversion rate, which should in theory help create more videos...

However I'd argue that conversion of mostly lower-skilled fans to artists is going to be considerably more difficult than attracting people that already have the skills to capably contribute. Are there communities of video creators that could be targeted to increase their awareness and interest, that already would have the tools and transferable skills/experience? What might be the right communities to attract?

Another issue is ensuring videos created end up attracting constructive interests... for effective conversion people need to find their way to Milovana rather than splinter. Looking towards the 4chan-Reddit-9gag issue, wherever there is good content to be found, it will be claimed and used for self/commercial-interest with sources obscured. Artists are currently using their handles well in the videos, which to an extent may get people interested back to Milovana, but an improvement for awareness/interest generation could be more consistent naming/plugging of Milovana in future videos. I've seen "for more videos..." and in laughingkor's Mindwarp "post your score..." used, which does not detract from the video or artist, while raising awareness there is a community behind all this that those interested should be a part.

Changing beats - I like it when the same pattern repeats for a while. I don't want to worry so much on hitting the changes that I can't concentrate on the visuals.
Complex beats - Variety is the spice of life as long as they repeat a few times (see above).
Very fast beats - i.e. "Ultra". I don't understand these. Honestly, I just can't go that fast and trying makes my arm sore and then I want to cry. I don't like to cry when I watch porn, so I cheat. Can anyone actually do these, or is there some trick I don't know? Please tell me because I don't like having rug burn on my junk. I'd guess that the max should be something like 250 bpm.

Stroke meters - Really add to the experience if done well. I have also been racking my brain for suggestions on alternative positions than the bottom of the screen. It would be nice if there was a way to mark the beats more towards the center so you don't miss the action.

Creating a CH-video is a very challenging editing-process. Apart from the technical point of view, there is the "footage"-thing. (Don't know how to express -> no native speaker) Ch-vids are more or less i***gal, so I doubt it would be a good idea to actively seek for video-producers/editors. Always remember what is actually happening when somebody is deciding to produce something like a CH-vid.

Form a creative pov: The "wishlists" are getting bigger and bigger which makes it more difficult to come up with something creative.

To explain these text prompts: I use them in my videos too. For example 1-2-345 should say that in the beat pattern are 5 strokes. Stroke 1, a little break, stroke 2, a little break and 345 are three consecutive strokes. My target is that after hearing the beat pattern a link in the memory is created between the text prompt and the audible beat. So the next time this beat is announced the player already knows how the beat pattern works.
