I included a pair of these ears in a long term mummification bondage scene (using leopard print duct tape) and it was SUPER COOL to have the insight into where my sub's mind was even though I couldn't see his face and he couldn't move... the movement of the kitty ears totally told the story of where my little sissy sub was in the bondage journey.

I have a pair and have had for about a year. They're not controlled by thought but by your basic brain state: relaxed or focussed. Still, this is enough for people to be able to interpret what your head is doing!

I've not worn mine during sex or a scene or anything, only in a cosplay-type environment (e.g. Supernova or Vivid Sydney) usually with friends. One friend in particular likes laughing at how they betray my emotions at particular things, which I find amusing. The same friend told me not to wear them on a date.
