So I came to CH and this forum quite by accident in January this year when I was searching for a video I had seen on another site. I was amazed by what I found here, the video's truly blew my mind, and I felt like I had discovered one of the best kept secrets in adult entertainment.

Looking back at the history of the videos that had been constantly uploaded to the database over the last couple of years and by seemingly more and more authors, it seemed like CH was flourishing and attracting more new and talented producers all the time. I genuinely believed that at some point the whole thing would go pro, and it would actually become a niche in the adult entertainment market.

However, it could be just me, and maybe as a newcomer I was easily excitable - compared to some of you guys who have been involved here for some time, but it feels like rather than to continue booming, things are actually beginning to slow down.. I know the amount of work needed to make these things must be immense, and i am in no way complaining, just wondering how many producers are still out there working on new movies?

I love the work of some of the original creators, AndyP, Brewster, JoeyD, x802snow to name a few, and just wondered if any of you guys (or others I have non purposefully missed) have anything in the works or how you feel about CH these days? I'm sure you have many dedicated fans and admirers of your work in the shape of myself and many others..

I felt the same way when I first found the genre.

I genuinely believed that at some point the whole thing would go pro, and it would actually become a niche in the adult entertainment market.

I have hoped this sometimes, but I don't think it'll ever happen. Who knows. I do think that someone who has the time and resources to develop a place for Cock Hero to live outside of milovana could make some money off it.

I've felt for a while that the genre needed a place all its own and someone just needs to do it. I know some of the original creators were on milovana before and are active members of the community but for the rest of us it feels like Cock Hero is just a bastard stepchild to the rest of the forum.

There's a couple of reasons I feel this way myself. First of all is just the different tastes between most of the CH viewers and the rest of the milovana community. I can only speak for myself but I'm much more vanilla than some of the other creators even, which are in turn more vanilla than the rest of this forum.

I also think that there has been a gradual slide toward reward based rather than denial based CH. My work included. I've never been into tease and denial. This is another big divergence from the original feeling of milovana.

The worst in my opinion is the continued exclusion from the "Tease of the month" competition. In fact our absolute exclusion from the rest of the site other than our little corner in the "on video" forum. Pretty lame. Not seeing the analytics on the bandwidth I'd have to guess that the traffic going to this little corner of the forum has to be substantial. What would happen if we were given our own platform?

When you put all these together you get a picture of a genre that has exceeded its current housing and needs to grow. CH needs to shed its milovana skin and move to a place of our own. Imagine a home devoted all to the making, viewing, and discussing CH vids. It would be genius.

I'd design it much like this one, just devoted to CH instead of text teases. I'd hate to see the forum go away because I love the dialog between creators and viewers and the eventual graduation from viewer to creator. I'd probably start by hosting streaming to offsite sources like pornhub with links, eventually moving into site hosted HD content as the site revenue began to cover the bandwidth needs. We could have contests, live "chat with the creator" sessions. Possibly even an officially sponsored tournament with female judges eventually. (You gotta dream right?)

The way I see it, it's going to happen eventually. If you're out there with the skills to make it happen, I'd say go for it. The sooner we get a place to call our own the sooner we will flourish even greater.

All that being said, I am still sitting on a project in the works. I don't put any timescales on myself because they ruin the fun. That being said, I graduate in 2 weeks. Then I'm going to do a 5 week pilgrimage through Spain with my girlfriend through June and int July. After that, I'll probably have more time. It just hasn't been a super priority for me. "TOTM" bragging rights would be nice.

As for progress, I do have some rounds complete. I also have all my music picked out and most of my beats done. I'm going with more of a themed version than the just straight sex of Fail #1. Not one overall theme, but themed rounds much like vs. I'm actually pretty excited to see it when it's done. The first couple rounds are pretty cool.

I agree. It's really amazing work, and contributed to by so many talented people here. I'm impressed with each new release and LOVE the whole idea and, of course, actually "playing" the new episodes.

Regarding going pro...I have some thoughts about that. I think the main reason Cock Hero style videos exist and exist in the great variety of videos that we love, is precisely because it hasn't gone "pro". To put it more bluntly, right now there is really nobody to sue. If there was anybody at all "official" behind the Cock Hero brand who had any money, they would probably first have to defend the brand against a lawsuit from Activision (Guitar Hero). If they survived that, then they would have to find, or more likely make, new content for the videos. They wouldn't be able to just download whatever they wanted and compile it and edit it with popular music. They would have to hire musicians to make original music, because no label in existence is going to agree to let today's hottest music be used in porn. The only way Cock Hero would go pro would be if some major porn studio (let's say Evil Angel, as an example) decided to do something similar. They could draw material from their own titles, come up with their own brand, hire their own editors, and hire musicians to make knock-off music to go with the video content. It might be interesting to see that happen, but it sure wouldn't be what we're used to, and probably wouldn't be done with anyone currently involved.

It may seem like it's slowing down, but it's really not. There have been five new releases in the last 23 days. I'm not sure, but that might be a record. There are more authors/editors now than ever before. I think the future looks bright and I think this type of thing will continue in some form for...well, forever. At least I hope so.

I'd love to make a new CH! However, since I'm polyamorous and have 4 girlfriends (not kidding), my time lately has been filled with lots of sex and juggling my time between four women. When I made my previous two CH videos, I had 0 girlfriends and lots of time on my hands.

Though I have amassed over 100+ gigs of porn recently (compulsively, I actually don't watch it), so I've been toying with the idea of making "CH: Intimate". Compared to CH, producing "normal" porn is quite simple : Shoot the material, cut it together, convert/render - > upload/publish. With that in mind, a "pro-CH" would be very very simple, since editing for about 3 days just to produce 20-30 minutes doesn't pay out for nobody. Not to mention the music....

My problem with producing another vid is the lack of material! It takes a lot of time to search for suitable
scenes. It would be really great if there would be a database or somehting like that, where producers can find some material.

However: In my next CH-Vid, I would like to add a female voice "presenting/moderating" the video, not sure if I can make it but I'll try hard.....

it would be very interesting so see people taking this into the professional business. Especially because thy would arrange the scenes based on the music BEFORE they shot it. this allows for immense artistic expression and creation. The actors would also correlate with the music. for example, it would match the sets, clothing, props, and they could even dance/fuck on beat. Thats a money making idea.

of course, as discussed, music rights is the problem.

A Pro-production similiar to something like Flux/Dance-Series would be very expensive which is, in my opinion, the main reason why we won't see it.

Of course you could do fantastic stuff! And I'm sure some guys at PH realized how many clicks the CH videos get, but I think its just not worth the effort on a professional basis since you already make lots of money producing porn the way it is.

With the production of a video (shooting, editing, rendering video + audio) taking several days (or weeks?) per episode, dvd/download would be quite expensive as well. There would be lots of illegal sharing > profit.

Just my 2 cent. Of course it would be really cool, but to be honest: Instead of paying for some Brazzers-style-cock-hero, I'd rather stick to the existing or produce my own just for myself!

I can definitely sympathize with how it "feels" like it's slowing down. In my opinion, it's because standards are ever rising. I churned out my first CH in about a month. Then I needed (for myself mostly) to improve on the first. So the second took longer. The third took longer still because there's always, ALWAYS room to improve upon your last video.

I haven't announced it yet, but since you asked, I am currently working on another Hand to Gland Combat Mission, the likes of which have never been seen in the CH community (theme-wise). Yes, that was very deliberate, take it as you will, I don't want to give away the reveal yet!

In short, I think some of the established creators take longer to get their new releases out because we constantly move forward. I can't think of a single series or subsequent release from any creator here that has felt like a step backward from their previous videos. That dedication and striving to improve always means one thing: longer editing times.

I personally hope that the CH style never goes professional, because then the heart will go out of it. Each creator is very thematic with their selection of content, music, even the beats they use. You would never get that organic feeling with a professionally created CH by some big production company. There would be too many hands in the cookie jar, and we'd wind up with a mass-produced IKEA-CH. Yeah it gets the job done, but it will always feel cheap and never unique.

I my self have also become familiar with this site because of CH. The whole concept blew my mind and I felt that this was something that I should have discovered years ago.

I believe that CH is a whole new genre of porn by itself and the various porn-sites (PH or Xhamster) should have it by a separate category.
I definitely want to see more videos with brand new ideas but I would definitely not want it to go pro. It's something that started and grew as fun based and this is how it's should be developed. Making it pro it would be nothing more of an other porn flick like the millions that already exist. The creators now put their soul into it and do something they like for themselves and won't release it until they're totally satisfied with their work. The industries will just produce and produce with the single thought of profit. It loses all its romance in my opinion.

I personally hope that Cock hero will never become that profesionall thing you guys mentioned. I totally love the fact that the videos are created by community of people for others to have fun. For free. Not to make profit. However I believe there could be a way to appreciate hard work of authors by volunteer donations. Problem is that while it should be clear that authors don't take credit for the content (video/music material they work with) I guess that there will be still some law/copyright issues with donations and it could mean potential risk for milovana/authors. (I'm not a lawyer. Also not sure if paypal or another providers are friendly to accounts/donations associated with porn and if there is a way how those accounts/donations can be presented to avoid that) Or is it just bad idea?
