You can't go wrong with a bullet vibrator. Small, easy to carry round in your bag. You can even find ones disguised as pens.

Physiology is different. It may so happen that while your anus is barely big enough ton get that dildo in, threadstarters anus is too small no matter how you look at it. Yes, you can actually work your anus bigger over time, but is it worth it? I don't think so.
