Numbing gel for easier anal?

My gf put it into her head that she WANTS to give me the pleasure of using her beautiful virgin butt. After few predictable failed attempts, she came up with the idea of using some numbing agent to reduce pain.
Now i have the general idea of how they work and what they can or cannot do, but i'm not quite sure it's a good idea, especially concerning what will happen after they have run their course...
Some experiences anyone?

I can only advise you to not use any numbing gel or other numbing liquids. The reason is that they will numb any pain, either the pain of the muscle just stretching or for worse the pain of something getting torn.
The best way of doing anal is to be very patient and going one step at a time. Start off by using one finger to loosen her up and once she is comfortable and the insertion can be done without any(!) pain, add another finger and repeat the procedure until you can fit your cock in (3 fingers should be enough if they fit nicely).

I concur do not use any form of painkillers with sex experimentation.

This is just my own experience and my own opinions.
I found that purchasing a small, "beginner" gelly anal plug can be a good way to ease into the penetration. Get her very relaxed, get her turned on by performing oral on her or something like that while teasing the rectum using plenty of lube, then when she is relaxed you can slowly insert the small plug. You have to give her sphincter muscles time to get used to it and relax. Once used to the fingers, then used to the plug, remove the plug and a slow well lubed cock insertion may go easier, and hopefully more enjoyable for both of you.
I've heard it said that for anal sex too much lube - is just about right. You'll have to make the call on that, but listen to her, if she says stop, just give her a minute to adjust. Now, if your cock is especially thick you may have to slowly train her with incrementally larger plugs.
