First attempt; 5 Minute Lightning Round

Hey guys,

After enjoying a lot of the various CH videos I thought I'd try to contribute. I don't have time right now to make a full one so I've made a short 5 minute round to practice some of the editing and beat matching skills needed. So here is my first attempt.

This is a google drive streaming/download link. FLV file, 1280x720. 210 MB
https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B7H9fy ... 0hDaENhSlE

And a torrent, which uploading from my pc will take who knows how long. MP4 file, 1280x720. 362MB.

(14.61 KiB) Downloaded 2050 times
Let me know what you think, and if I should try to make a full video.

This is perfect for a first attempt, the audio beat is very well synched with the beat meter. I like the choice of music which is refreshing and of course great selection in scenes. The variation in beats also seems great but extremely hard difficutly wise though this is a practice/preview round so i'm glad for that since i would lose badly towards the end.

I would REALLY want to see more of you and hope you'll do just that.
Great work and hope more people agree with me on that.

Hell, yeah. Please make a full video! This is like CH Fail in a capsule! That's about the highest praise I could give.

Great to have a new CH-Author here,

Very good Video for the first attempt, the Scenes are very hot and the beats are well done the music is a little bit to calm for me (but thats only my attitude), in the end i think it would be better to say stroke to an edge instead of this long fast beat period.
Conclusion: very good video keep it up, i hope to see more from you :-D

Thanks for the feedback.

I have a large list of things that I want to improve next time. I think I'll try to put a full video together in early January. I like shorter videos though, so maybe 5-6 rounds, and around 30 minutes.

Anyone have any tips for music? Finding music was the hardest part for me, it seems almost everything I listen to already has a beat to it.

hey smkygreen,

I'll add my agreement with the others above - a fine first effort.

When it comes to CH-style video teases, one of my biggest critiques is whether the Stroke Beat can be heard clearly enough over the music. It's about 50/50 here - half the time, I can hear it, half the time I can't.

Also, you should consider using transitions when changing scenes and leveling the audio during transitions - right now, every time you jump cut to each change, it's a bit abrupt and the the audio to that new scene can be a bit surprising.

I'm not fond of the superhuman stroke beats later in the level - just too fast. Also, the last minute and a half of superhuman fast stroking is pretty unrealistic if you're expecting viewers not to climax at all.

Lastly, you missed an opportunity with the opening of your video - it's called Lighting Round, but you opened with an explosion! Should've had a lighting bolt somewhere in the beginning. ;-)

Looking forward to seeing your future efforts. 8-)

I love these lightning rounds hope you do more. Rather see more intense 5-30 minute videos over these slow takes their time to get to the action 1 hour videos.
