the guideme jar is common for all installs.
it is windows and vlc versions that mean the associated jars need to be different.
If you have a working 1.1 just overwriting the guideme jar should work.
My main dev machine will not boot at the moment, once that is sorted I will release 1.3 which has a few additional fixes.

We are looking at using netbeans which should sort a lot of the issues for windows versions and mac but it is a fairly major change

I was kinda just hacking and replaced the single jar file in the current mac port from Takenga with the one from 1.2 and while it did fire up, images/video were unable to be displayed (no errors in any of the logs). Audio seemed fine.

Yes for some reason there are issues with mac, I don't have one so can't diagnose why it does not work when it should.
At the moment GuideMe pretty much interacts directly with the OS, Netbeans provides a wrapper that should simplify these sort of issues, unfortunately it is a fairly major re-write to get it all to work again.
Takenaga does have a mac which was why he managed to get it working.

Good idea! That should be very easy to add as another option! Thats already on the roadmap in some part...
At least for the random media: There are already more stats tracked than you see. For example her "heat" will likely go up if you feed her often, but will also likely go down if you ignore her and just stroke. Her heat influences already different things but it's also planned to use it for specific subcategories for random images. So you would have for example 10 random folders for each heat level (for example use folder 1 for only fully clothed models and folder 10 for your hottest hardcore sex media in your collection). In result you would get visual feedback how "hot" your succubus is at the moment. This will be added in one of the next updates.
My problem with the succubus: I really like that idea, but it should stay random to a degree (because of replay value) and most picture sets don't have enough pictures for a good "progression" to make that work for the succubus. Although there is already very small progression (stroking pics have more clothing than for example holding edge pics). You can easily use the "tags" (stroke, hold, cum...) in filenames of a picture set for a succubus to customize this progression, but it isn't linked to game mechanisms (like heat or something similar).

Yeah... i love that idea, although i don't have a good idea how to translate that better into game logic. There are already different hidden and not so hidden variables (including for example her heat during the tease, her received energy for the day, her overal affinity towards the player) which influence things like bonus chances and when or which ending you will get. Making that progression more natural than pure randomness was one of my goals here. But it still lacks quite a bit... I will try to improve this further, but i'm not sure how exactly at the moment.
Just to go a bit more "indepth" into the current important parameters for succubus behaviour:
- Spoiler: show
- Affinity: represents her general relationship with the player (derogatory, neutral, friendly or passionate). Will go up or down after a session depending on the performance of the player and influences different things in a session (for example chances which ending you get).
Heat: represents her arousal in the moment during a session (from 1 to 10). Will change often during a session depending on players actions (and a bit of luck). For example stroking tends to lower the heat, feeding her tends to raise her heat. Influences many things during a session (including which ending you get or how likely she will give you a bonus chance).
Feed/Beg/Chance: All different ways to feed a succubus, but with very different chances for endings and stuff. Your best chance for an orgasm is to feed her often (to raise her heat and give her much energy) and then take every chance she gives you. Begging is a possible way to try to force an ending, but chances for an orgasm are much lower here. Feeding her has nearly no chance for an ending.
StrokeCount: counts the time, the player "ignores" his succubus (goes up for each page just stroking, resets after each feeding). Influences different things and could be used to force some punishment if player is ignoring his succubus for to long
HostEnergyToday, EdgeCount: both represent the overal progression during a session. Will only go up during a session with each new feeding and edge, never down. Resets with each new session. Influences different things and could be used to unlock more interactions or change her behaviour during a session. There could be also different "minimum goals" to achieve for each session.
HostEnergy, Visits: Go up after each session, never down. Remember in comparison: Affinity can go down again after a session if player performed poorly (for example gave up to soon). So Energy and visits represent a general progression or "high score" of sorts tracked individually for each succubus. Don't influence much at the moment. Maybe for "story arcs" usable in the feature, building "longtime relationships" with a succubus
Difficulty: can be changed for each session and don't change during a session. Influence many things, including session length and chances.
These are the main parameters which i use at the moment to create a more natural behaviour than pure randomness at the moment. Maybe somebody has ideas how to use them better or add new parameters. In future versions there could be for example more character traits. One succubus could prefer to feed from your pain or from your frustration when you get denied instead of just your arousal (aka energy). This could change the way a succubus behaves during a tease. But its difficult to translate into game logic without beeing to obvious to figure out for the player.

I really like the Idea of this tease and where it seems to go :)
English isn't my mothertongue, so I better won't help creating text
This morning I startet my first game and after one edge I was denied and finished for the day
So I reseted the game and startet a new one and was late at work, because from the story I had to disable giving up
When I think at the stories from ME. Hydra getting a Succubus really horny is an ambiguous thing...

That work around did the trick. I converted all those webm videos to wmv and they played fine. If anyone would care to have the converted video folder I will be happy to upload it. The converted video folder increased from 126 MB to 232 MB. (I kept videos in their original sizes with high quality option so they look good still and didn't balloon into a gig or two.)
I like the optional button to lock the random image. It is very useful to help build points if you're seeing something you really like.
I just barely peeked at the updated tease but it seems to have all the potential in the world. I just hope playing it on the old version of GuideMe doesn’t mean I am missing something special.
I think choosing your guide preferences is an exciting feature with GuideMe and increases the excitement when first starting a tease.
Eventually, after you decide to update the tease with tons more bonus add-on content,

you might be able to make players select guide preferences from a big set of lists like the user preferences lists since you’ll have hundreds of varieties and mini-teases available.
I know some people have a nice box of toys and making the player report all the toys they have and such for your tease during the intro would be cool when you get finished with those super add-on content bonus packs this summer! Naughty bonus pack! Sugar Bonus pack! Spice Bonus pack! Humiliation Bonus pack! Mean Mistresses Bonus pack. The Dungeons Bonus pack. OK! Never mind! How about Heart's Club Ultimate version instead?
Of course I am being silly and I realize that a million more hours of work isn’t feasible for anyone when making a tease but I just wanted to make the point that everything you add will only make it more enjoyable for more people. The more variety you eventually add the better. This thing seems like it could morph into an awesome adult video game or something. Adding extra side challenges and surprise scenarios with various flavors could only add to the overall appeal of the great tease.

You're basically playing with the new version of GuideMe if you did the workaround (using newer GuideMe.jar from v0.1.2 on older GuideMe installation). So no, you're not missing anything

I like how things appear to be heading. I'm throwing in a few cents of my own here, as always to be used or not at your discretion. Some of this might be difficult to code, or even understand if I'm not explaining it well.
What if you "build" character personality profiles? You might select a few personality traits, with various traits reflecting a variable towards or away from certain outcomes. These would apply variable logic alongside those you've already begun implementing.
For example, you might have personality traits as follows:
Trait level between 0-5, where 0 is none of this trait, and 5 is a lot of this trait.
Domineering: 4
Kindness: 3
Excitability/lust: 2
Stamina: 4
You'd have to decide exactly what traits are more or less likely to cause what outcomes, and perhaps link possible "statements" by the succubi by creating predefined statement values based on rated statement levels.
Again, if this makes sense, it might be fairly complex to code, but could result in more easily setting up various personalities with variables down the road. You would still need to have a lot of different "statements" written up of varying personality types, which I'm sure a lot of us could help in coming up with. You could technically then rate each "statement" by using the same predefined personality traits, and the closer a statement is rated to the personality traits the more likely for that statement to be used.
Less personality traits would obviously be easier to code and define.
End result would be, you could decide to select/define a very kind, loving personality, or someone more cruel and cold, by simple numbers. You could have individuals in between, or someone who is nice, but does not get excited easily, or someone who is either kind or cruel, but takes a long time before the get excited. Possibly they only get excited by certain things, i.e. - lots of edging, vs lots of stroking, ruined orgasms, etc.
Personalities might then only be limited to changing value of traits, and of course, number of statements for defined actions available to be chosen from.
Some of this might be stuff thats way down the road from where you're at right now anyway, or possibly you've already considered different ways of implementing something similar.
If none of this makes sense, then just ignore me :P

Thinking of new created Succubi it could be more easy for later to:
-make a system like AllanM
-do different kinds of traits like (Orgasm attitude, heat attitude etc.) and then just mix from each kind together
instead of giving each Succubi an own trait.

- new ending: Succubus could get to excited and suck you empty -> character gets killed
- chance to trigger when holding edge with very high Heat
- With character trait "LikesPain": additional chance to trigger during punishment with high heat
- With character traits "LikesOrgasm", "LikesDenial": higher chances to trigger during holding
I like to play with the fire, but directly dying
I love that too much heat should have bad consequences, also because otherwise rising the heat would be the straight way to sucess, but it would be sad to lose my game, because of that

So I would be happy, if there is an option with consequences, but without dying

Possibilities to trigger:
-forced break to cool the succubus down
-denial to save you
-as an rare event maybe an energy frenzy without killing
etc.

I had to move the planned new character traits to a future update. It needs i bit more work to get it right... But v0.9.2 has now all features which i promised earlier and even some new features thx to your feedback! I will now take a break and let you play with the tease for a while before considering another update. Please share your feedback here and tell me what you think!

Unfortunately I can't get this to work, and it;s difficult to track what's needed across the threads.
Could someone post a step by step guide to get from having say no guideme at all installed to a working Heart's club?
If not, I guess I;ll have to wait for 1.3 and give that a try.
