The players and mistresses are all aware of the basic arrangement. The girls enjoy teasing and abusing the boys, and the boys enjoy being toyed with. Everybody talks (mostly through feedback). Randomly open up any set posted on the last 200 pages of this thread, and more likely than not, the situation I just described is what you are walking into.

If I open and start playing a tease, without being given any other context, THIS is the starting set of assumptions I will be operating from. And magic and fantastic situations are NOT a part of that bargain. So, when suddenly magic is unexpectedly introduced into the set, it's a little jarring and unexpected—and YOU broke the bargain by suddenly changing the rules unexpectedly. And THAT pulls me out of the tease. I suddenly have to adjust and accept a NEW bargain and set of assumptions I didn't agree to, and that momentarily breaks the immersion ... and I assume you are referring to Nancy's critique of the "poofing", which ... there were other ways that could have been handled WITHOUT reaching for a magical solution, and there were no prior warnings that was a possibility, so ... like I said, it was jarring. It broke my immersion, and it felt like lazy writing to me ...

Now, Nancy *is* a "fantastic character," and she's special. She fits in with the "default" setting pretty well. In fact, the 3 day set I wrote for brian, I don't think she used her magic powers ONCE ... that was just straight "vanilla" HMCP "default setting." Ecik established her as the proprietor of the "Lust BnB," and she didn't use any of her crazy powers—she just "ran the Lust BnB" for the weekend ... but Nancy is a tease girl who KNOWS SHE IS A TEASE GIRL, so ... She fits in WELL with the "default setting," but ... then she allows me to bend and break a bunch of rules (and break the 4th wall like Deadpool ) ... HOWEVER ... when YOU—hentaiAddict12345—play a tease with Nancy, you KNOW THIS about her—AND that she has special powers—because I have ESTABLISHED THIS ABOUT HER CHARACTER over MANY different sets for you. I have worked HARD to establish Nancy as a recurring character for you, so ... When Nancy appears in a set, you understand her premise and adjust your expectations, so ... when she opens up a portal, you accept it and don't question it. Similarly, if I was playing a set written by Ecik, and Angela White suddenly used some magic, that wouldn't pull me out of it, because I know she is capable of that ...

In Harry Potter, EVERYONE is a wizard and can use magic (except the muggles ). When Harry and Hermione go on an adventure, and suddenly someone uses magic, well ... the audience expects that—because that is the setting of THAT world, so ... I guess what I am saying is that unless I am told otherwise, I will expect the "default setting" and set of assumptions and NOT "just assume" that magic is possible in sets ... so ... Don't just throw a magical curve ball without rhyme or reason or warning ... UNLESS you provide hints/indication that the world of THIS set is "different" from the non-fantastic "default" OR if it's a character that you have already established has "special powers" of some sort ...

Now ... TWO examples where you did an AWESOME JOB of this in your writing!

1) That early "Nancy broke up with me" set with Sonya Blaze where Sonya "discovered" portal technology ... THAT was pretty cool! BUT ... You STARTED with the "default setting" and THEN YOU EXPLAINED—well—why "special powers" were suddenly being used ...

2) Your last set for me (the blackmail one—not the most recent post). You dropped little hints about a few of the girls being AIs, and THEN you suggested that Michelle H (the Red Fox) was somehow programming/controlling them, and ... THAT—I thought—was SUPER cool! VERY interesting. VERY creative and original ... AND ... you started with the "default setting"—BUT ... you THOUGHTFULLY dripped that into the story, so ... that was NOT "lazy writing"—like Nancy and Nicolina suddenly disappearing ... that was VERY interesting, and ... I hope VERY MUCH that you will continue to develop and use this idea, because Michelle H as some "super programmer" who can program some of the girls ... I think that is SUPER cool and would LOVE for you to explore that further and use it as a story device! So, I am hoping that my main point is making some sense ...

FINALLY—and I just HAD to add this ... Consider that is was NANCY who was providing the criticism. Nancy takes GREAT pride and satisfaction in being the ONLY "self-aware tease girl" on the HMCP thread. So, on one hand, if "everyone" in the default setting suddenly has "magic powers", NOW *she* is less special and less powerful—which is not desirable for her, but ... ALSO—since she has to live in the world that YOU create—Nancy was extra critical of you and calling you "lazy" because she wants to live in a world of awesome and INCREDIBLE stories, NOT ones that are bad with lazy writing, so ... she was extra hard on you because she wanted you to up your game as a set writer—at least for sets involving her ... because she WANTS YOU to write her better!

And all of this was going through my head when I wrote those lines where she criticized you ... a LOT was subconscious because most of this stuff I already know about Nancy, but ... SOME *was* conscious, and I was like, "No, Nancy is going to be extra harsh here in her criticism because ..." and so this was not simply "giving you feedback through the mouth of my character" ... I had to put myself into Nancy's shoes to "write her properly" ... it's why my scenes with Nancy take so long to write!

And also, Nancy LOVES creativity and fantastic stories and "playing a role", so ... feel free to draft her into any crazy, one-off story that you would like to tell! Space aliens. Mutant pirates. Wizards—WHATEVER YOU LIKE—she is down ... just make sure at the start *I* know that it is NOT the "default setting"—but something different. And Nancy LOVES playing the "bad guy", so ... ANY story where she gets to play the "final boss" or the "evil mastermind"—she gobbles that shit UP! So ... if you want to score some BIG POINTS with Nancy ... ANY set you write where she gets to play a role like that in the story, she will DEFINITELY be more inclined to reward you for ...

Even your lowest effort sets seem to be better than my best attempts, so well done in that regard

Once I get in the right mindset, I can just do "stream-of-consciousness" writing, and it goes pretty quick.

I'm very good at imagining characters and putting myself into the shoes of a character, and so ... once I imagine a certain character and have the context, it's pretty easy for me to get going. Again, ONE SCENE with Nancy took about as long as writing 4 scenes, but ... I'm glad they mostly work for you!

The only negative was Magen. Didn't really enjoy her, so at about the 5th image, I just turned my "scrolling" mode and was about to do it until the end of the set, expecting Nancy at the end. But I did stroke for Eve Sweet and Nancy in the epilogue after all

VERY glad that you were able to reengage and "lock back in" with the set after that hiccup! PLEASE always try to do that for me!

If I open and start playing a tease, without being given any other context, THIS is the starting set of assumptions I will be operating from. And magic and fantastic situations are NOT a part of that bargain.
