Uh for me keeps saying authentication failure

anyone want to network using yahoo or skype?

Earlier today we did some chat server maintenance and updates, which aside from improving the security and stability of chat, seem to have caused one bug. Some of you using clients to connect to chat may no longer be able to connect. The fix is posted below.

With the new server update, Spark versions 2.6.x and earlier are no longer compatible with the server. There is a security issue in one of the old client libraries, and so the server no longer accepts the connection from it. You need to update your client to the newest version, for Spark that is 2.7.0 as of writing this, for it to continue working for connecting to chat. Note, many clients have done this update over 12 months ago, and so are not going to be affected.

TL:DR If your Spark isn't connecting to chat anymore, download the newest version from http://www.igniterealtime.org/downloads/index.jsp

(If I absolutely need to I will make an announcement in that section but idk how many people connect via spark at the moment that will have this issue, I did due to just not updating spark since I originally downloaded it)

Seems its... half fixed?

I was able to connect via spark but trying to connect via the chat feature of the site is seemingly not working.

Can others confirm this as well?
I was fiddling with the reboot script about an hour ago, which should reboot it fully for everyone and not this half version.

it has returned

Several hours ago chat stopped working for me and then when I tried to get back in CANDY would hang. Also, when I try to log in through Psi (a XMPP client) it won't connect period.. no authentication errors.

*CORRECTION* Psi now gives an authentication error as well.

Then I just tried to get into CANDY a few minute ago and i'm getting an authentication error, attached below and FULL SIZE SCREEN SHOT HERE.

I hope this information is helpful in tracking down the issue.

I doubt that it's unknown by this point, but I've been encountering the same issue. I'm either getting an Authentication Failure a la FG's screenshot, or I get a "Connecting" message that continues into oblivion until it magically shrinks and the entire tab is forced into a limbo, to the degree at which I can't even go on to a different URL in that tab.

For the pleasure of all of you... *big drum roll* I've created a chat room to use while the main chat server is down, since the backup chat appears to be no longer up and running either .

is there something wrong with the chat, it just says connecting and dosent connect at all
