MiloDB 1.15, 2023-06-30
- Fixed: NYX teases with unquoted text fields were not being captured
- Fixed: Config settings were always using default values
- Added: Page references can now be shown alongside text paragraphs
Note: These are not shown by default because it may be a distraction to some. You can turn them on with the new 'pagerefs' command.
- Added: 'pagerefs' command to toggle the visibility of the page references
- Added: Configuration for launching the web browser with 'browse', 'browseall', 'open', and 'openauthor' commands
See 6. Launch Configuration for more information.
- Database: Updated to 2023-03-31
Note: The database format has changed. Older versions of the software cannot load this database and this software cannot load older databases.
This was quite a major change, so please let me know if anything doesn't (or does!) seem to work correctly.

Is there any command to only generate the browse html file with a link but not auto-open it? I don't want it opening in my default browser.
Please let me know if the new launch configuration,
6. Launch Configuration, does what you need.

While it does do what I asked, I didn't realize custom launch options were in the works and is the better solution for me. Apologies.

That's no problem at all. The custom launch options had been on my TODO list for over a year, and your request prompted me into actually doing it since it resolved two requests in one. The more requests I get for any feature, the more likely it is to move up the priority order, so keep 'em coming!
What did you set the launch options to? Did you use "
custom" or "
none"?

None just to confirm for you it worked as asked, but ultimately custom to open my preferred browser setup.

Just to let you know, the page reference addition is a nice addition for me and seems to work well. Thanks for adding it and all the other updates.

Thanks for the feedback; it's always nice to hear when a feature gets used.

Ohh, that’s a great update, didn’t even know I wanted that.
For those who want a custom profile to start, it’s -P:
Code: Select all
"start firefox -P \"YourProfileNameHere\" \"$u\""

Thanks, that's a useful tip.
Did you make any use of the '$variables' in the end?

Oh, sorry, yeah, forgot to mention that. I do use those regularly, thank you!

- Database: Updated to 2023-04-29
I've made a lot of under-the-hood changes, but nothing that
should affect its use.

Hey Frozen,
Firstly, love this little app and have been using it since the early previews. Makes searching soooooo much easier.
I had a question about your recent DELETED additions. It is picking up invisible teases which I have not found any way to access the contents of, so how does MILODB have it?

Some teases I've captured before they were removed, and then later on when their status changed, I've marked it as deleted, but as I still have the original content, I can keep that in the database.
For example:
Tease #52576 Title
[
DELETED] 'A message for you from the Dark Tantra Goddess Part 2'
Author @108375 Name
'Angelofdenial'
Type reg Date
2021-09-16
2021-10-03
: Tease was first captured
2022-03-21
: Tease contents, summary, and tags changed
2022-12-30
: Author 'Angelofdenial' disappeared and the tease was marked as invisible
I don't know when 'Angelofdenial' left Milovana, but it was sometime between
2022-03-21
and
2022-12-30
. When I noticed the user had gone, I probed each of their teases to see if they were still available.
This does highlight a bit of an inconsistency in the results when it comes to the author. Usually when I notice that an author has gone, I show that as 'unknown author' and it looks like I forgot to do that with 'Angelofdenial'. What I could do is show the original author's name and indicate that the author no longer exists with something like '
[GONE]' perhaps. I'll add that to my list of things to add in the future.

- Added: 'query' command can query against absent authors with 'authorStatus' field
- Changed: 'url' and 'urlauthor' commands can now output more than one link at a time
- Database: Updated to 2023-05-26

Getting a Windows Message that milodb my contains a virus and therefore is will not be started. Version 1.15 I get the Warning W10 style and ignore the risk and start milodb, since 1.16 the message is W7 style and can't be skipped so I cant start milodb. W10 actually deletes the .exe... is there a workaround i'm missing?
