MMMMM I bet that stings *blushes*

Kami Tora on spanking: There are, of course, many Kami Tora drawings that depict spanking. The problem, of course, is choosing which ones fit the theme here. To hew as close to Miss Shell's wishes, I took all the Kami Tora illustrations tagged with "spanking" and applied the following filters:

• First, it must be a female bottom. The femdom/malesub pictures are both numerous and quite captivating, but they're not on topic here. (Though I admit, I did save them for later "contemplation"...)
• Second, there must not be anything beyond mild markings. This let out most of the caning pictures, for example, because of the welts.
• Third, both the spanker and the spankee have to look happy about it. I admit this is a personal thing with me, though Miss Shell did point out that spankings are a reward in her case. So while I allowed some tears in the intense process of spanking, there had to be some reason to believe that this was an act of shared enjoyment, not anger.
• Fourth, I tried to categorize the resulting images into themes, mostly just because I like finding patterns.

The next couple messages are what I came up with.

To start with, let's consider the anticipation of the spanking. These images show some worry, and a little bit of stress, but also gleeful anticipation. (The first one has already been posted -- hey, even by me! -- but I can't resist putting it in the "anticipation" section because it so captures the emotional part of waiting for special attention.

The next subtheme is about the intensity of the spanking experience itself.

While these images do depict some tears and redness, I tried to leave out the ones that seemed more extreme, or less consensual. This is the stress of extreme sensation, when you wonder if this was such a good idea after all. But I hope that while they convey intensity, they also convey the intense enjoyment of the person being spanked.

Next, the use of toys during/after the spanking.

Ok, this may be a slight deviation from topic, but at least personally I find toys fascinating. To me, these emphasize the sexual aspect of the spanking, making sure the bottom has plenty of stimulation to keep her excitement level high. It's a way to me of thinking about the enjoyment of the spanking, while at the same time emphasizing the sensory overload that underlies so much of masochistic pleasure. The size of the toys, of course, is just a visual exaggeration of this point.

(Still don't get what the pointy ears are about, though.)

The sub-theme here is humor: I just thought they were funny for one reason or another. And who likes utterly grim scenes, anyway? A bit of ability to laugh at ourselves, even the most intense expressions of ourselves, is a tonic.

The humor I saw here involved: Star Wars characters wearing funny hats, what it would be like if department stores really understood their customers, the strange uses of "good girl/boy", what teenage boys reading comic books really think about, and the sort of movie we'd make if we could all be honest.

I hope you find the humor not too crude.

Finally, let's consder aftercare. I really, really wish we'd more often depict the calm after the storm. Aftercare is what makes it all emotionally worthwhile (or so I imagine).

Look at the expressions here: they depict a sense of relief, a feeling of swimming in oxytocin & endorphins, deep excitement, and smiles that just make you want to hug them forever, don't they?
