How do I access the log? I've been looking around the debug screen somewhat aimlessly.
It is a file, there should be a logs directory under the guide me main directory
Found the log. Appears my VLC was grossly outdated. Updating fixed it.

I have not looked in detail, but the file I looked at is not loading because of 3 weird characters at the start of the file.
If you open it in notepad you will see

- skir.PNG (42.65 KiB) Viewed 2583 times
Deleting the three characters allows it to load.
I did not look to see if it works once it is loaded

I'm not having any trouble starting up,but once I get to the meat of a tease(where it seems a metronome or stroking instructions will start) GuideMe freezes when I click continue and my comp says "Java SE Binary Error."
Has anyone else had the same issue?

That is a fairly generic error.
There may be more in the logs.
If you post the log files somewhere I can download them I will have a look.
(They are in the logs directory under the directory where you put guideme)

Thanks Philo.
Where can I post them? I'm not used to uploading files.

I think it may be because it is installed in an unusually named directory
\Downloads\AFF540DC.Unpacker_v7353qx4kg3sa!App\Blockers\GuideMe-v0.0.4-Tutorial.zip\userSettingsUI.state (The system cannot find the path specified)
I would try changing AFF540DC.Unpacker_v7353qx4kg3sa!App to something bit more normal
also are you running it from inside a zip file?
I will not like that either.

Thanks Philo!
I tried just moving it to the downloads folder, and renaming the folder to GuideMe, even though it's definitely not in zip format--my unzipper just saved it under that name.
The problem still persists though. I can go through the first few pages of most guides, but once I hit a "Continue" or "Ready" button intended to start the actual tease instructions, it freezes on me. For example, when I click "Continue" on the "Text" page of the tutorial to move on to the "Audio" page, it freezes. I delete the state files to restart, but it continues to freeze on those same pages. I can't find a common denominator looking at the XML files, except that the pages that it fails to load may play audio files.
Any thoughts?

can you delete any current log files then create the problem by running the tease and upload the logs it generates.
The main error messages before were it couldn't find the files, it may be there were multiple issues and now it is erroring trying to play the files.
