@shell, its a slap to the face and makes a mockery of two other teases on the front page. One by the person I quoted here and another by Marissa. Since all the tease does is advertise the person as an open dom(me).
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....thank you Mistress for explaining that to me. Since I so rarely go over to the Webteases, I simply couldn't figure out what all the fuss is about.
*whispers* I still think what SC did was freaking hysterical and I'm glad I gave it a five! *giggle*

I have in the past complained about the quality of some teases, then I found the 1 page advertisements (teases) asking for domes/subs and I suddenly found passion in my heart to embrace teases that I otherwise would despise beacuse even despite short, poorly written and TXT/L33T speech filled teases that's sole goal is to apparently make me lop off my genitalia in disgust, I find no greater insult than the spam-tastic and selfish waste of space billboards which are passed along as teases by folks oblivious to the correct channels......OK.......ok, I just stuck a tranquilizer shot in my buttocks to stop me from going on, thank god for morphi......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Doesnt Seraph forbid solitication on the board?

We remove solicitation if it is
- commercial OR repeated (multiple postings for the same thing)
AND
- doesn't add value to the site.
The second rule is only there as a backup for when the first rule is violated. So rather than just banning all commercial solicitation we give it a pass if it comes with some content or freebie that people are enjoying.
These rules apply to all sections of the site, though obviously different moderators will apply them with different degrees of leniency. For me personally it has to be a fairly blatant violation to get deleted.
For non-commercial single postings however, I have no interest whatsoever to enforce a particular notion of what a webtease is. This site is a hosting platform, not an editorial blog. We aim to provide authors with decent tools to make and publish teases. Whatever they want to put in there is none of my business as long as they don't break the law.
For those of you who were concerned about the quality of our front page - if you are truly worried that people will no longer be able to find the good teases then there is a really simple way to help: Editorialize. You could start a blog website linking to good teases or a forum thread listing your favorites. We don't want to make judgements over content, but
you are perfectly free to do so.
That said, we do consider it part of our duties to provide tools for sorting and finding teases, so if this type of tease becomes commonplace we'd add a tag and a filtering mechanism for it. Note that it'll take a few months to really get a sense if this is going to be big enough of a phenomenon to warrant its own category.

It seems that most people here don't want these weak, soliciting type of teases. I agree. But I am not one for censorship either. Maybe admin can put an 'edit' option on teases, similar to the 'favorites' heart.... but in this case, opposite.... like a skull & crossbones representing a 'delete', 'unfavorite', or 'do not show this tease again' button so I do not have to view teases I do not care for when I'm signed in. I would just delete them from my viewing (similar to collarme, one can delete profiles that you do not want to look at, & it remembers your preferences each time you are signed in). Is this possible for admin without too much trouble? That way when I sign in, only 'real' teases will be shown in my window.... teases that I have not deleted from my personal profile/view. There are many fabulous teases here, but I occasionally get one that I do not like, so this option would seem like a valuable tool to have. Thoughts? Is it possible without too much trouble? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

That's over kill... Just don't click them.
I like the plan seraph0x has for them. It may even inspire some of these guys posting them to actually try and make a good tease out of them. I'd really like to see an ad tease done with some style. Something well thought out and enjoyable to read. Also I think its poor taste to try and find a partner and then go all private email.
Why not start a thread on the forums in the game area or somewhere and have anyone you hook with your ad post in the forum thread. This would make is something the whole community can read or even take part in if that's something you are into.
I'm not sure how many of you have been following Ned & Shell's journey but its been so much fun keeping up with it. I think if more people did stuff like this it would liven up the community and turn these annoying Ad teases into something fun and good for the community.

Having one more option is overkill?

What are you smoking?

How is this overkill? You might as well take out the 'favorites' button then.
It would seem simple enough to add another button, especially since there is a 'favorite' button. But I'm not a computerwhiz guy. This would just be opposite.
Tell me you like
every tease here. This would be so you can narrow down the teases you like without having to 'favorite' so many that you do like, that's all. Besides, after several months or a year, will you remember every bad tease you don't want to click on?

I think it's obvious you didn't think about the real possibility & advantage here, but whatever. Personally I think it would be a helpful option. Each member here could personalize their own tastes. So you're saying this is a bad thing and overkill?
p.s. I seem to be one who is not offended by the tease in question that triggered this latest forum discussion. Everyone is different and wants/likes/searches for different things. I am merely offering my suggestion to keep feathers from being ruffled. I actually got a good laugh reading that 'tease'. I wonder how many readers sent their info, hoping...

Oh..... point taken.
Yea I was just looking at it as a way to not see the ad teases. I didn't really put any thought into it past that. It's been a really really long day.
Now that you've explained it to me it does sound like a pretty awesome idea. My favorites have so many pages of teases it would be pretty sweet to just ignore ones your not interested in.
I really like this idea

ok, this seems pretty black and white to me. if it's not a tease, then it shouldn't be posted under the webtease section. some of these "teases" are just doms looking for subs, or vice-versa. when that's the case, they should be posted somewhere in the forum. this way, they won't clog up the webtease section with nonsense. just my 2 cents.

I like the idea of an "I don't Like it Button"
Think of it as a spam button, then you can hide the rare PIB's
It gets my vote big time admins.

LMAO! Okay, I cheated- I repeatedly signed out so I could give it a "5" rating multiple times...

I've taken pics of myself in the most embarrassing positions with my face and identifying tatoos clearly visible. I included my name, home address, phone number and social security number... I magic markered "slave of sexualchoc" across my rearend and tried to send it to you, but being a dumb nimwit I couldn't figure out how to enter your email address and sent it to all the friends and family on my contact list instead...
I hope you'll instruct me how to resend it, I REALLY want to be your sex slave!

I'm have a somewhat split opinion on this....
Using web teases as personal advertisement is from my point of view clearly undesirable and most definitely sorts under the spam category.
But at the same time I completely love and support seraph0x' line of thought when it comes to having the site as a neutral hosting service more than an editorially controlled environment.
Within the limits of the law, freedom of expression is vital, and seraph0x understands that - including when it might not be too popular. And that is a good thing.

I think what is really the point is that we don't want crap teases.
if you are advertising for new recruits give them a good sample of what they may get if they follow through and contact you.
On a personal note I don't want pictures until a rapport has been established.
In fact I have rejected offered pictures for a while
I have recruited in the chat room, and forums quit successfully as it keeps the anonymity strong until later,
while maintaining contact with friends as well
I have not written a tease mostly because I like to adapt to the individual
There have been some very good teases that encouraged contact outside Milo
Just as there have been Forum threads.
But please put some effort into it else you won't get the response you want
When recruiting or playing particularly in the forums.
Don't leave subbies hanging and hoping for a return and finish .
