Might I suggest buying another keyboard, a cheap one, and lay it someplace close to the "real" one and see if you can't relocate him. This would yes, be better for you, but it would also be better for the keyboard.
Hubby1 is a computer technician and believes that over time, little pieces of fur in the keyboard could give you problems with letters sticking, not typing correctly. Just a thought. *smile*
