Your "incorrect" assumption wasn't offensive in any sense, so I'm asking here again (third time's the charm?). I'm asking for a step-by-step installation guide. What steps must I take to join services and then implement them such that stash-app uses your PMV-scraper? (For other users here at Milovana, you might also initially include how to get stash-app up and running on their computer in the first place, and how to join and implement the other scrapers.) I probably previously knew how (viz. the fact that I got the standard scraper to operate properly) but now I'm so frickin' annoyed at the complications that I am not going to go look it up again. I'm smart enough to know that my mental capacity for intelligent problem solving is not the problem; though my lack of mental capacity for tedium and unnecessary annoyance may be ...

My esteemed colleague and fellow gooner book_guy,

So far, hundreds of users have joined pmvstash.org just from Milovana and many of them have already contributed Cock Hero metadata for the benefit of all, demonstrating their willingness and capacity to endure and persevere through the - admittedly present and regrettable - tedium brought upon us by the sorely lacking and highly experimental user interface of stash and stash-box. It is for them as much of a perilous endeavor as it will be for yourself and any other hesitant scholar of our vocation who attempts it. I can therefore not in good conscience advise you, lacking a certain daemonic inner gumption, to proceed further.

For anyone still willing to proceed, and in the hopes it may be of some use, I have authored a brief and illustrated guide which describes the procedures necessary for connecting your stash to pmvstash.org.

P.P.S. Basically the tl;dr is this:
1. Stash is fucking complicated. Just as you don't feel like banging your head against it, I don't feel like writing a full tutorial on it, times ten!. We all do this for fun and out of passion. I encourage you to do the same and not bother with this if you feel it's not for you.
2. Still, if you are stuck on something specific, please just ask. I'm willing to help anybody with specific questions.

Very cute. Spent lots of time on silly imagery. But where exactly are the commands that you instruct me to access? I can't find an API key. Perhaps spend more effort on getting the instructions explicit, and less effort on silly imagery. I have a dimmed-out "generate API key" button and no API key. And I have no GraphQL Endpoint in my interface at all, as far as I can tell.

Look, I am a bright guy, I am not inept; imagine how hard you're making it, for someone who has (less than) average intelligence. You want this thing to work? You want people to sign up? MAKE. IT. EASY. So fair: FAIL. Third time was not the charm.

1. Absolutely no pictures, colors, or emojis.

2. No other cute asides. They're confounding the clarity of communication. Don't go "aww, I can't use pictures? Geez ...". Readers can't tell which sentences to ignore and which to access, when trying to follow the point-click instructions step by step, if half the instructions aren't actually instructions, but rather are sentences of self-congratulatory palaver about medieval monks or the like. We don't click on the medieval monks, leave them out of the instructions about where to click. (And what the FUCK is wrong with that monk's index finger?)

3. List the steps, one by one, without leaving any of them out. Make sure every step is available to every user in every possible context, or explain the variations.

4. Format the steps with intelligent indentation or similar outlining. Do not use hardly legible fonts, as above in silly imagery. Difficult fonts suggest to readers that you don't give a shit whether we can figure out what you're trying to say.

5. Then shut up.

And no advertising. Your demonstration of personal enthusiasm for the project is the single greatest reason that I distrust the project entirely. Were you to communicate rationally instead of emotively, I would not be on my fourth round of inquiry, you would not be on your fourth round of explanation, and many other readers might understand this to be a valuable thing which required no puffery to advocate for it. Instead, in the current state of things, many readers may learn that the only reason they should become involved is that you are excited about yourself.

This has been a lesson in Aristotle's "ethical appeal." Look it up.

Did you check the documentation? Basics for scrapers are available here https://docs.stashapp.cc/beginner-guide ... -scraping/

Instead of stashdb, you can add pmvstash or whatever metadata provider if you wish

Finally sat down and took the time to setup stash. This is seriously a game changer. I love the perceptual hash idea which saves so much time for me since I've modified the file names of all files during the dark pre-stash days. Just tried connecting my entire JBPMV collection to pmvstash and every single one, even the latest gorgeous girls vol 4, was detected flawlessly.

Amazing work guys - more time jerking and less time organizing is a win!!!!

With the release of Cock Hero Master Class, we decided to use PMVStash for the performer attribution...

The problem is, I don't who a lot of them are, and AlchemyX has been so busy making the video that he didn't have them all written down.

So I implore you all to drop a few attribution edits from your Stash, and maybe we can get even more players to use the system so we all benefit!

I've been using this for a while but the biggest annoyance seems to be the mandatory "studio". When you edit your whatever missing CH video and try to submit, it's almost certain to miss the studio. Now you need to manually create "studio" and in the case of CH it's mostly just link to user account here or somewhere else as real "studio" does not exists. This however needs to be approved before it can be used. This leads to not be able to submit the actual video due missing "studio" and to be honest, I'm not going thru after few days and re-submit once the studio has been approved on the site. It just feels like this behavior is not a good fit

It works "ok" in stashdb for other content where there are actual studios behind and most of the scenes already has this

I cant actually recall if I already logged in to post a thanks for this! Its absolutely amazing, takes a little to get your head around getting it up and running and certainly can take time to sync and get everything tagged and what not but boy once its setup - it's like my very own pornhub only better as its got just content i like :D amazing work love it!

I just came across this and have to say THANK YOU! I've been a Stash user for a couple years and have a 4TB database that I've gradually been trying to organize. StashDB does great with "known titles," but a good chunk of my collection is PMV and Cock Hero type content, and this Metadata Provider has allowed me to FINALLY organize that portion of my collection.
