Ive tried to create scripts before and frankly can never get the software to run on my PC, so i fail at step one. all these githubs, with very poor mapped workflows, very little images to help you along the way!! id love to create my own but put it in the two hard basket and then time poor. So when i have actual time to play its basically a consumer.

Yeah, same here. I'd be interested but with a full time job and 3 Kids I can't really put aside enough time to learn and produce content. Maybe in 10 years...

And I know how you feel, but there is no need to have excuses, I did not want anyone to feel targeted by this

I was pure consumer for most of my life, and even now I am unable to create anything like some of amazing creators here, but they have inspired me to at least make some kind of mile-stones near the roads that their creations are, or to worship their creative gift (a tribute we could say).


I don't want anyone to feel pressed to create, I will keep making stuff when I feel inspired, that is precise reason why I couldn't take this one to work on... there are few things in my WIP folder (vi22 from numberonefan among them) and I love going back to these and polishing them, but this one doesn't ring with me. It is my belief that creating should be done out of love, and here I can't immerse myself and feel how I want the player to feel, the experience that I want to try to convey.

I think the reason why greatest creators are always people who suffer is because they are full of love but are not able to be with loved one. That leaves this gaping hole that they fill by creating. So, maybe you could consider yourself lucky that you don't have motivation to create. There is nothing bad there. Just remember to say thanks when someone does make something that you like, because they did pay for that gift.

Thank you, I did not really count myself under these creators... after learning what it takes to create a video production I know that estim takes me about 1/100 of the time/effort, even less for some of the greatest works here... And all my estims are just way of thanking the creators whose videos you played with them. Send them your love and gratitude.

The issue is the githubs and flows are all made for other coders, devs, and e-engineers, and assumes a body of knowledge which isn't as accessible to people who don't specialize in the field. And to follow it means accessing and following Milovana, Discord, and other stim forums: having intimate details of the whole project. It's left in that state because it serves those who know already, it's not broken or confusing to them - and the originators don't see the issue since they speak the language, or the workflow makes sense to them because they wrote it, and don't understand why or where it doesn't to someone else who doesn't have their skills or knowledge.

And then there is the issue of problem solving vs listening. Every time someone has voiced a meta issue - i.e. not a direct workflow or line problem - like "Hey, this is confusing" or "I can't get it to work on Linux" or "these instructions are confusing" - it CLEARLY can't be a problem with the documentation, it MUST be that person is ignorant.

Rather than seeing the pages on pages of posts of people having problems or confusions and examining how the map is laid out, inserting more direction or detail, or how maybe both are issues and a person might benefit from some basic explanation. (go take a class just pushes it right back on the user, instead of examining one's own processes)

This is not an issue solely related to Restim - this is such a common problem in software in general, it's been a trope since the first end user mixed up punchcard 6 with punchcard 9 because the programmer didn't put a fuckin line under the number to tell you which way it should face.

True story ^ - my mother was a programmer/analyst who taught your computer teachers' teachers. The push for plain language and detailed documentation for end users ended a looooooooong time ago when the big drives for specialization took over.

That is why they made chatgpt, so you can get instant help to solve any problem that has solutions online...

Being required to make an account and talk to a high energy use computer system that often makes mistakes and similarly won't have the proper context or resources to help in a bunch of things is not the answer to solving deficiencies for documentation on how to install or use software. The solutions aren't always online or in ChatpGPT's LLM captures.

You are right. But good faith user would note what they tried, give feedback on one of the githubs or directly to the developers, they are here with pm open, on discord, they act on feedback every day and make things better... The barrier of "githubs and flows" is in the head of the user, because these places are same like every other place on the internet, you use mouse and keyboard, open issue, ask questions... Opening issue on github is same like in every other system you have to interact with to go through your life... a customer support ticket, a rma, a doctor's appointment, wikipedia...

I have had feedback like "this line from tutorial doesn't work" and it turned out that the script I attached was not latest version, and I fix that, but that was from the user who actually wanted to do it and not have everything done for them.

"I am uncapable of doing it"... well too bad then, I don't see how you can engage in a niche hobby that requires spending time to read and learn things.

First big shout out to numberonefan for your creations, there is not one vid that I dislike that you have done.
Second shout out to the great estim editors and you know who you are!

I would love a funscript estim file for restim for this one, but have lots of other ones to choose from to enjoy thanks to the wonderful cummunity here.

still hoping one day that a ESTIM or funscript becomes available for this master piece!!!!

I am not sure if f12345u ever published this script, I might have got it to test it but this video just bores me out in first 30 min so I never went through, not my thing :)
