Maybe I’m just dumb, do you think you could do a video guide, or that SOMEONE could do a video guide? I’m not quite getting this.
Did you try the written guide on the website? I don’t have the time for a video guide, but if you have specific questions, I bet I can help. I’m working on my third video with it now, and I think I’ve got a pretty good handle on it. :)
I had a bunch of questions when I started too, so happy to pay it forward. :)
Is there n a bpm limit or something when generating a beatmeter video, because when I tried to generate one with a really fast beat per second, it didn’t work and gave me this super long string of numbers error message and just froze.
Not that I’ve encountered, though kerkersklave would be the best one to answer something at that level. I’ve mixed the music in my videos to 145 and 150 bpm and that’s not been a problem anyway.
Also, you can make beats in between the bpm beats just fine and still have them snap. Hold down the 1 key to snap to half-beats, 2 to snap to 1/3 beats, 3 to snap to 1/4 beats, and so on, which is what I do for when I need fast beats building up to drops and such.

No, you don't have to create an account. It's still free for personal purposes
Try this:
https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java ... 66655.html
You only have to accept the license agreement just above the download links.

Hey Augustulus! I thought that as well, but once I accept the terms and click on the download file, I get redirected to a log in screen... Maybe I'm seriously overlooking something, so please let me know!

Interesting! Didn't tried the download link myself, because I am already on java 12.
But I searched the internet a little bit and got to this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/java/comments/ ... ithout_an/
It seems that java 11 is archived and therefore not free downloadable anymore.
Since I also wanted to try the beatmeter generator, I'll test it with java 12 for you

You're welcome!
You still have to get it to work on mac. I can only test windows and linux

, but I think if it works with java 11 there should be no problem with java 12 either.

Just a note: Oracle Java 11 is still available for free as it is an LTS release. You just seem to have to sign up for an account to download it. Personally I would try to use LTS-releases as they are available for longer term. I also aim to test the beatmeter generator on the lates LTS release (but I do not have a mac to test there).
There are also other distributions of the OpenJDK now from other companies like Amazon, but I have never tried those. (I mostly use linux and a current open jdk usually comes with it).

Hmm, so this is a strange one.
When I try to open Beatmeter Generator, it opens on java and shows the logo. After that, I get a notification that the program stopped working and therefore doesnt open the program but gets stuck at the screen that shows the logo.

Hi,
A big thanks for designing this tool.
I use a Mac OS X (10.13.6). App freezes with logo of the heart beats.
Installed the jar file and latest JDK. Upon launching on the .jar file the app (double clicking (jar launcher is set as default). Activity monitor shows not responding) screenshot attached.
Not sure how to proceed. Help appreciated as this is my first attempt.
Cheers !

This is a known issue. As I do not own a Mac and up to now nobody volunteered to help me debug this, I am currently not able to say anything about it.
If you want to try, try running it from the command line with "java -jar beatmetergenerator.jar".
If this produces some helpful error message, I can try to do something. I however fear that the problem is something more subtle that really needs some deeper investigation.

Has anyone tried this on Linux? I tried adding Parallels Desktop, but my old MacBook Pro can't handle it...

Being based on the Java Virtual Machine, I imagine it should work on Linux, but I'm a Windows user, so can't vouch for it.
