jellied eels no thanks
steak and kidney yes please
but the notion that england is backward culinary wise is false
we have some of the best restaurants in the world and influences from the multicultural make up of our population; from Indian, to Italian, Mediterranean to African etc etc
especially in the sophisticated south!
have you not tried steak and kidney Mistress D

Eel pie!? What have you been told about our beloved country MistressD!?
We do have steak and kidney pies though which are ok. And of course, we have our bacon butties!

I haven't ever had kidney in any format (except probably in sausages since that's mostly leftover stuff anyway). I don't like organ meats in general (liver... ick!).
I'll stick with a nice NY Strip or Filet Mignon when I'm eating beef...

Alex WTF is that!! I'm gonna throw up!
And I'm not a big fan of organ meat, I'll eat kidney if it's in a pie but I prefer just plain steak.

When I saw the picture I thought it looked like a nice mushroom/potato soup or something like that...
But I'll pass on that organ extravaganza! Does it have any brain in it? Or is just the English that like to flirt with mad cow disease?

I ate our beef all the way through that stupid CJD scare. It was nothing but tabloid fear mongering as per usual.
D/dix.
P.S. This is what you want. Not an organ platter!
Actually I think I'd rather have another Cinnamon and raisin bagel. I've got an addiction to them at the moment.

Sounds like haggis. Haggis, 'neeps and tatties. That is the choice for winners. Along with a wee dram of the good stuff followed up by a whole vat of the merely ok stuff.
Also, stuff arsenal more importantly the Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! Wooooooooooo!
