It looks like there's an issue when using Restim with really high windows DPI scaling. You can try to reduce the scaling to circumvent it. I will have to look closer into a real fix.

New release: https://github.com/diglet48/restim/releases v1.19

Changelog:
  • change settings storage path from %appdata% to current directory
  • change A/B test duration from number of pulses to seconds
  • load funscripts from named folder first, before looking in zips
  • fix: graphics glitches when using high-dpi scaling or high-contrast theme on windows
  • fix: wrong math and jumps when using t-code commands
  • fix: settings not loading for transform and vibration
  • fix: various crashes
You can copy over the old configuration files from the directory %appdata%/restim, and then delete that dir.

Restim uses the scaling factor (dpi) entered in the windows control panel which seems to be configured to 225% on your PC.

Usually people use such high scaling factors when they have really bad eyesight and they *want* stuff to be big. If you don't want stuff to be big, can you not reduce the scaling factor in windows?

Recommended scaling factor for a 4K reso laptop running 3840x2160 is 250%. If i change to 100% you would need the Hubble telescope to see anything on the screen, all other apps/programs work fine at 4k.

Hi diglet,

I've upgraded from restim 1.18 to 1.20 and it crashes now as soon as I press the red play button.
I'm using MPC-HC as media player - but that should hopefully make no difference.

In the error log it says:
INFO:restim.audio:attempting to open audio device with 2 channels.
CRITICAL:restim:Exception occurred
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "qt_ui\mainwindow.py", line 346, in audio_start_stop
File "qt_ui\mainwindow.py", line 371, in audio_start
File "qt_ui\audio_generation_widget.py", line 93, in start
NameError: name 'TCODE_LATENCY' is not defined
I've downgraded to 1.19 and it still works there - so must be something with 1.20.
And I'll get crashes on my Win10 Desktop and on my Win11 Laptop.

Thanks. I fixed this in v1.20.1.

  1. make sure websocket device manager is enabled in Intiface Central.
  2. In Intiface Central, devices tab, add a new device with name "restim" and protocol "tcode-v03".
  3. Connect Restim to Intiface Central as normal.
I keep trying this and no matter what I do I get

Connected to buttplug.
buttplug error: The remote host closed the connection

I remembered it being a nightmare on my old PC (to the point that I gave up for a few months but got it working eventually) now I'm on a new one and am reliving it.

Have you tried upgrading to 1.21?

I have that and IC 2.6.4+30 and it connects fine. Every now and then I might get a handshake error but it connects on next try. Probably me trying to connect the two too fast.

diglet,

Loving that you allowed audio to continue when switching media. Thanks for adding that.

Yeah, I just re-redownloaded it to be sure, enabled websocket, and

This usually means that websocket device manager is not enabled in intiface, or that you are connecting to the wrong port (should be 54817).

I don't see websocket device manager, I see Device Websocket Server, and that's enabled in green. Under WSDM in Restim it says ws://127.0.0.1:54817 I checked Windows Firewall too and they're both allowed.

What does Intiface show for Server Address? Make sure it matches in restim. You could also try enabling "Listen on all network interfaces" in Intiface App Modes.
