I am eager to hear about part 2, anything you can share with us yet?

Hey ya'll so I may be super late for this but I'm having trouble with the game. I'm trying to leave the school after recruiting Destiny but I get the error Failed to load: img/characters/ UsefulTiles.png (I tried to copy the error code as exactly as I can) does anyone know of a fix?

This was a problem that occured because I had some files which used leading white spaces.
I am developing this game on mac, and apple treats files with leading white spaces as different files.
Windows does not though, and that created some problems. I tried to get rid of all references to the file, but It seems I missed some.
I will try to go in and find the instance you found and fix it, and perhaps get a patched file soon.

I am working on Part 2, although it is becoming quite massive, even compared to part 1.
I will likely put it up in parts, maybe Just the media as a separate download.

Anyway, I'll try to patch this soon.

I'm glad to hear that you are still at it, keep it up, ... there are really not much games I am looking forward to as much as I do to this one, and I'm taking in concern all kind of games (AAA as well).

I downloaded the latest version but once I load any save I just get a white screen

Hey Oats, I noticed you had already discussed the windows issue with the error Failed to load: img/characters/ UsefulTiles.png. I just ran into this issue getting to the cafeteria for the first time and was curious if there has been any progress on this bug fix. I’m trying to make sure I play through part one before part 2 releases. Thank you for the great content you’ve put out.

Hey Dinkleberg,

in case you missed it, I uploaded a fix for that in an earlier post.

Extract the content of the zip (which is a batch file) into the folder, which contains Game.exe,
then run the batch file (i.e. double click it).
If Windows Defender complains about it ("oh no, it's from the internet, i'm not gonna run that ")
right-click it -> properties -> check "allow" at the bottom -> OK -> try again.

Note that you will have to re-run this every time you move your Dreamscapes installation to a different partition/drive.

Yeah, me too. I don't know, whether it's dead. The post above (from 2024) is Oats' last post on the entire website so far, so maybe he is just busy with real life. I was gone from Milovana for 3 years as well. So you never know...

It'd be interesting for sure, hopefully not dead. Was a pretty good project, and even without sequel is ambitious.
