What time are you setting the server to restart ?
Bearing in mind are world wide spread of members?
Midnight your time is 6 pm New York
Perhaps put a reminder message in the chat rooms

Yes, I set the time to 8:40am UTC. (This is the time where statistically there is the least number of people on the site.)

Can't argue with that.

Restarted chat, disabled cams/audio again. Let's see if it's stable again without cams.

May I suggest you stop everything except just text,
Then add and remove things one at a time until the culprit is identified.
As it may be more than one thing interacting with another.
Just my tuppence

We were running everything except cams before and that seemed to be working fine. If it works again, we've pretty much proven the culprit to be the cams.

Okie Dokie
Strnge though because cams did used to work without any problems.
In both public and private situations.

Cams work fine, they just make the server slowly crash over a period of days/weeks depending on much they are used, how much memory the server has etc.

Yeah, SexualChoc messaged me and I fixed it.
Looks like the cam theory is dead though. I've asked the chat mods to come up with a list of features that we need, I'm going to look into switching to a different chat software.

Can you start a thread so that those of us that use different chat systems can input their favourites?
And also vote on the short list,

As with most Hive Five posts, if your favourite was left out, it's not because we hate it—it's because it didn't get the nominations required in the call for contenders post to make the top five.
We understand it's a bit of a popularity contest, but if you have a favourite, we want to hear about it.

Hmm. So maybe the problem is chat feels we aren't doing a good enough job of begging it to stay up.
