You should come out of the dungeon and get a better signal.
Or buy a voucher for more air time.
A phone contract is not the same as a contract found on this site.
Smacking a phone never yields the results you want.

"MyPhone" has no problems at all.

That's why it outsells all other phones
Try looking to the heavens and not indulging in Fruity Dabblings

Perhaps your reply answers why you need apple to save you from yourself.

Ahhh I follow now old boy. No wasn't anything to do with signal strength it was just that the phone was very very slow and almost always unresponsive, for example when receiving a text it would take at least 5 minutes for the phone to load it up for me to look at.

It was a HTC something, would never have one again. Once bitten twice shy and what have you.

My daughters all have iphones, and are annoyed that my Samsung Galaxy s2 can do everything theirs can and lots they can't.

My favourite single app is "MyPhoneExplorer" coupling phone and computer wirelesly and so being able to send and receive "Text" messages using my computer keyboard and screen, along with "Copy and Paste" from anything I can see/find on the PC at the same time.

I also have a Motorola XOOM tablet for reading books and using in the bed room.

That is a pretty cool app, but I would rather be able to reliably stay in contact with others, for example Skype works a million times better on this phone.

Is this phone with a different mobile phone network ?

Also you may well of had an old and underpowered Android compared to those available today.
Skype utilises wifi I would of thought.

The fastest P4 computer struggles these days, as a comparison.

Same network, same area, it's just the phone wasn't up to what it claimed it was. Lesson learned.

Hackers claim to have stolen a database of 12,367,232 Apple device IDs, and personal information such as full names, cellphone numbers, addresses and zipcodes belonging to iPhone and iPad users. And where do they claim they stole this information? From an FBI laptop... via a Java vulnerability.

Well, i got Xperia ray (Android 4.0.4, good camera, mediocre cpu & ram, otherwise excellent tool). It cost me $170 last november and i have yet to find a notable issue with it (and i am hard customer to please, mind you). No slowdowns, no crashes, no nothing. And most notably no feature i miss on it, besides HDMI port which i admit could be missed, but i have no use for (yet), and an FM transmitter, which only a couple of phones ever had. I can Skype with no problem, call, text, IM, i can use it to remote control just about anything in real time, i can use it to directly stream video online, analyze wifi traffic, hell, i can measure my heart rate with it...

I mean, of course i can't play 3D FPS in HD quality, but hey, that's what computers and, you know, keyboard and mouse are for...

Also redundant but somehow mandatory addendum: I can use my computer (or even some nokia phones) to manage it's memory without any additional software, i can play flash apps without googling for workarounds, and i can extend it's memory indefinitely at the cost of less than $.75 per gigabyte (extra $300 for extra 24GB? WTF Apple??)

And let me repeat: it didn't cost my leg, it didn't cost $1300, it didn't cost $1000 and it didn't cost $200. Apple sells price tag, and the fact, that people buy it, alone pisses me to no end, so forgive me if i'm a little biased...
