The way I play:

If you edge, then you must close the video and try again from the beggining, you gain points to the amount of levels you completed.

You must gain the perks but can only use each one time, if you use all of then in the first level, you will be fucked in the latter levels. If you managed to get to 30 points, then your points are reseted but you still have your perks, just this time you must "buy" more and have more then one of each, so you can use for example "stop time" two times if you have two of then, but if used the two, you can't use it again in the next rounds.

Also, your points are not transfered from video to video, so each video you play you must start with no perks, and gain points equal to the amount of levels you beat. So if aren't able to pass the first level without perks, you will never get any perk and if you can't get past the second or third level without perks, it will take a lot of time and tries to get any descent perk, so this way you are encouraged to beat the bigger number of levels without using perks and use then only in later harder levels (except the final one)
