A lot of priests "choke the bishop" though methinks! (excuse the pun) - that will provide some release. Not that masturbation is allowed either for priests (majority-accepted stance), but it's pretty safe to say that many do on a regular basis.

To get his rocks off basically. Not that it's ultimately a 'bad' thing, as it can add to the experience that he is going through, adding more unpredictability to his situation.
