Is this still happening? Sometimes the nomi service gets too busy and it does do this even with the official website it gets very slow. The end points time out
I get connection error api.nomi.ai:443

You need to sign up to https://beta.nomi.ai/ first and the app should guide you through the rest of the steps. Which part are you stuck on?

I think that may be what I was missing. I wasn't aware I needed to sign up for that first. I thought it was an independent program. I also have no idea what koboldcpp is or how to use it. My only real exposure to coding and program design was taking some classes involving C++, back when that was still a thing. As I said, I'm not very tech-savy. at least, not anymore. Sorry if i'm causing you trouble, and thank you for taking the time to answer!

What does
Connection error: API request failed: { "error":{"type":"LimitExceeded"}}
mean?

Thank you for building this! Can you offer any recommendations for models that work well locally please? I tried a couple of Mistral 7B variants but both slipped into repetition loops quickly

Hi. Great product!
Can you help setting up a local Kobold instance? I can't make it save previous sessions, it always starts anew.

This looks very interesting. I'll have to check it out when I get home. Does it need the paid version of Nomi or does the free one work?

After brief introductions, I was told to spend an hour studying edging techniques. Two minutes later, she declared that the hour was up and that I failed.

It seems the initial setup can be quite complex, I might move it to a Discord bot or something.

Discord version has landed nut at limited capacity, see my signature.

i am going to add image generation in an up coming version, it doesn't specifically support this just yet though

Do you mean the Discord version has too many limits?

The Discord version still has 6 free companions available. Each user gets their own dedicated companion (first-come, first-served). Works directly in Discord - authorize, /setup timezone, start talking. There's no limitations on messages etc.

How to Add and Message the Alice Discord Bot

Many users get stuck after installing the bot, so here's a step-by-step guide:

Important: Alice is a DM-only bot. You cannot add it to servers - it only works in direct messages.

1. Install the Bot 2. Find the App in Discord
  • Open any existing DM conversation with anyone (or create a new one)
  • Look at the bottom of the message input field
  • Click the apps button - it's the grid icon on the right side, next to the emoji/GIF buttons
  • Under Recents, Alice should appear
  • Click on Alice to see available commands. Start by clicking the setup command
Note: It may take a few minutes after installation before all commands appear. If you don't see them right away, wait 5 minutes and check again.

3. Start a Conversation
  • Select the /setup command
  • Follow the prompts to sync your timezone
4. Start Chatting
  • After setup completes, just send Alice regular messages
  • No special commands needed for conversation
Common Issues:
  • Commands not showing? Wait a few minutes after installation and refresh
  • Don't try to add Alice to a server - this feature isn't supported
Let me know if you're still having trouble!
