I loved this one.
Spoiler: show
Round 2 was my favorite - I seemed to be riding very close to the edge for a lot of it. In round 2 the first and second parts were the best (but anonymous arses aren't as interesting to me).

I also thought the warmup was one of the best I've seen.

It feels nitpicky, but I felt the thing which I felt most detracted from the production was the beat meter.
  • you had complex beats
  • you didn't have any indication when the beat changed
  • there wasn't a mark in the location in the middle where the beats happened
These meant I had to focus on the beatmeter more than I'd like (and the action less than I'd like). I wonder if the reason round 2/warmup were my favorites were partially because I could focus on the action more due to their simple (and rarely changing) beats?

However overall I liked the music selection, the model/scene selection and the tempo/progression. For a first time creator this is great, and I look forward to seeing your next creation.

I was responsible for implementing the beat meter (the patterns and the graphics) for CH French Riviera.

In general, I wanted a very minimal footprint for the beat meter. As a result, I felt that having a mark in the middle was unnecessary since the beat fades out in the center and does not continue to the other side of the screen. I did initially think of including such a mark, but I felt that not including it improved the aesthetic.

I was going to originally include beat indicator text, until I stepped back and really thought about its practical use case. I came to the conclusion that if the beats were very simple, then following along to only the visual beat meter should also be simple. If the beats are really complex, beat indicator text would only make things worse.

Another use case of beat indicator text is to signal that a beat pattern is going to change. However, my beats were a bit erratic, didn't follow simple patterns all of the time, and changed somewhat frequently, so the beat indicator text would've been popping up all over the place, which I felt would only add to the distraction.

Another issue was the fact that I followed the songs so closely, that random little rests and other miscellaneous beats were present, which would've been non-trivial to indicate with beat indicator text. Others, such as the final round, had such well choreographed complex patterns within the song itself, that I couldn't resist emulating it as stroking commands.

I feel that beat indicator text is really necessary only when a visual beat meter does not exist.

The beats were so complex (particularly in the final round), that using beat indicator text would've led to even more confusion. Imagine trying to parse a pattern such as: 1--2--3-4--5--6-1--2--3-4---5---, or 1-2345--12345678. To me, that looks like an eyesore, and it raises another question: How does one efficiently represent complex patterns using beat indicator text? I couldn't think of a good solution, which was another reason I abandoned the use of beat indicator text.

I didn't include complex sections for the sake of complexity, I included them because some the songs inspired complexity, while others inspired simplicity. I hope the complex sections didn't take away from your experience too much. :-/ But if I didn't have the complex sections, I would've felt like I didn't give it my all and that I would have stunted my creativity.

high octane - Thanks for the detailed response its good to see why you were making these choices.

I agree some of the patterns would be hard to explain using the standard 1-2-3-4 notation. One option is just to have a beat change indicator of some sort. The beat indicator could be as simple as making the first beat (or first set) of a new pattern blue rather than white if you want something unobtrusive, but which would catch your eye. That would mean you only watch the beatmeter just after a beat change and not all the time.

I really liked the varied beats - its good when not every CH uses the same dozen beat patterns!

The flash of a dot when it got to the middle was fine most of the time. I only noticed the lack of a static mark for the first few beats after a break (particularly if they were lots close together I either missed them, started them too early or had to stare at the beat meter for too long).

That's a great idea! I know that some CHs in the past implemented this, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

The only question I have now is, how would I indicate something like a very short rest?

I thought of a compromise. I can include a middle mark from the beginning of the round, until the first beat, and then get rid of the mark afterwards. I can also bring it back in if there's a bit of a rest between notes.

Why, thank you!

I think it felt really french, in all the good ways. Classy, well-made, good-looking, inviting, but also, fun! Warmth, sunshine and love right when you need it the most!

When I look outside my window, I see cold rain pouring in the darkness. This was everything that we're missing xD It's a chef-d'oeuvre and it went straight among my all-time favorites, les classiques.
Spoiler: show
Sacré bleu! I lost at round 6
Also, I think Round 2 was especially good

Trying to find it I saw some other options too

CH fuck has a big red arrow above the first beat in a new pattern.

There are lots that say something like 1-1-3 when a new beat starts, and I'm wondering if just saying "beat change incoming" or something would work for this?

But its CH Miami nights which as the beats in a new pattern of a new colour.

Hi Frantzo!

First of all, thank you for creating this fun and awesome experience! I had such a good time with it!

I have to admit that it took me three tries to even reach the point where I read my name in the credits and felt really, really flattered! Thank you for that! That being said – losing control to French Riviera was such a sweet sensation!

I loved the beats! Easy to follow (I only had a bit of trouble during the second part of round 1 – but not so much, that I couldn't enjoy it! It just took me a moment to get into the rhythm), challenging without being unfair! I hate these super hard beats that are only beatable with a really numb cock.

The music was superb as well! God, french is such a sexy language! Really catchy, great vibe and super fitting for the whole tone of your video! Speaking of vibe: I LOVED the vacation-setting of French Riviera! It really felt like a time off! I was so sucked into this world with all your lovely girls, the ocean, pools, perfect weather ... such a wonderful daydream to sink into!

Your girl-selection was also amazing! So many favorites of mine that made me think: "Shit ... okay ... I'm not going to survive long ...", while playing! :-D By the way: It was really fun and interesting to see how two creators can handle the same material so very differently. You have a few scenes in it that I also used in Dreamgirls and a few more that I already implemented into Dreamgirls Arcade, so I expected these scenes to be a bit of "boring", considering how well I already knew them from using them myself. But that wasn't the case. I felt like you've put your focus on other things than I was. In combination with your whole editing, choice of music, captions (which I really enjoyed as well!) and so on, it was far away from boring for me!

Like I said, the caption were a great addition! Also loved the little, clever details like the "follow the flower"-thing or how you teached the player the french word for butt! This brings me right to the butt-round, which was GREAT in my opinion! I'm not even a butt-enthusiast! Actually, I mostly focus on faces, breasts and tummies, but this round felt so "out of context" that it felt so fun and refreshing! Like you asked: "Feeling good? Getting used to the beat? Yeah? Let's change that!"

Image

 The fast beat came right at the right time, stopping me from getting desensitized from the steady beat! Also the really quick cuts were a thrilling contrast to the lovely slow motion shots! Just the perfect balance!

In short: French Riviera was a LOT of fun and is VERY well made! Such a great addition to the CH softcore genre and a new favorite of mine! Thank you for creating this!

I'm so glad you liked ! I'm not gonna to lie but he feels so good to be supportive by others creators.

If i mentioned you at the end in the credits, it's because DreamGirls made sure that i started my own Cock Hero ! Because we can offer another perpective to this pleasant "Game" :-) i tried to emulate your style and i'm feel great that you liked the french vibe of this one

I can't wait to try your vid  !!!!!!!

Adding : The beat meter is the result of the amazing work of high octane : people did not notice the beat meter while it's the core of the "gameplay" !

I could write several paragraphs, but I'm tired (its late here now), and I have a bit of headache. But I didn't want to logout without saying HOW AMAZING this CH was. Along with CH YouTube, CH Blissful Edging, and CH RL-GL Softcore, its been one of the best softcore releases lately. And now I only watch this type of porn, I'm pretty burn and tired of conventional harcore porn with huge cocks and liters of cum.

So, creators of softcore or solo/lesbian Cock Heros, we want more of those!!!

Thank you.
