Thanks so much for all the responses! As for now, I've downloaded Hydrogen and even though working with beats and music isn't my specialty, it seems like it's a pretty easy tool to use!

Just please make sure the music and beats line up. There's so many excellent videos ruined by this.

I totally agree! It's a real shame, but something people also underestimate is the choice of music. For me, songs that are used in cock hero videos need to have a certain amount of (sexual) tension, or a climax to build up to, just like the video itself. That's why hiphop, R&B and EDM is usually the way to go.

Hahaha that's why (in my opinion) those genres (well, the first two that you mention ...) are definitely NOT the way to go. We seem to differ on results though not on causes. :)

For me, cock-hero music is most enjoyable when it's rather neutral. Something I've never heard before, without lyrics, that can become an ignore-able background-drone in my mind, such that it imparts to my reptilian sub-cortex a sense of the rhythm but otherwise such that I don't ever think about it. I like the electronic dance effects music (as you mention) and have had very good experiences with the made-to-purpose sounds of (for example) CH Sync Stars, where the music is basically just synthesizer-ized and speeds up or slow downs as necessary for other extraneous purposes within the video. I don't personally like EDM very much for any other application -- I get bored to death of it, at an outdoor concert of EDM, for example (that Belgian guy in the Volkswagen commercial? he says that Belgium has "the world's largest electronic dance music festival ... that's Hans, my lighting guy" and that statement alone almost convinced me to stop rooting for the Belgian national football team during the World Cup!). I can't imagine buying EDM, or getting excited by one or another particular creator (DJ? EDM-master? whatever you call them) in the genre. EDM is not something I would listen to for anything else. But for Cock Hero, I find it THE BEST!

Sooooo, it has been some time and even though I'm not able (for a unknown reason) to create a beatmeter, I still posted a raw version of the first round.

There's still A LOT that needs to be done, like the other seven rounds. But just to get some constructive feedback, I'm really curious about your opinions (which I'm sure the internet has plenty of ).

Okay, so this is hopefully one of the last questions (cuz I really wanna wrap this one up before 2019), but here is a small dilemma:

When you guys are editing your Cock Hero, do you use: 1) multiple files with short clips (like one round), export them and blend them together at the very last second. Or do you 2) make one giant project from the start, with the risk of everything being lost if there's something going wrong with your computer?

The reason I ask this, is because iMovie won't allow me to merge different projects together, so I have to choose between these two options. Really interested in your thoughts and opinions!

I do the whole cock hero in a single project and export at the end. Straight up hardware failure is unusual, and so long as it’s not the disk, I can always recover it. That said, there are also the options of using cloud storage for backup or an external hard drive. Just copy the project over every so often.

+1 to keep a backup of your project (of all your data on your computer actually) to an external drive that remains DISCONNECTED when you don't use it. This technique prevents viruses wipe-out as well.
