So... what is the point of this thread? We have a long-winded wall of text that can be summed up as "do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Which is, well, nothing new. At all. Pretty much the cornerstone of every religious or other moral guide ever. And then random animal pictures with a few dancing TMNT images thrown in just for good measure. What is the point?

"What's the point in explaining it all
When in truth you never listened at all
You expect me to be there at your beck and call
Well I've news for you
I won't be there next time you need me
Tell me the rules of this game that you play
Don't you realize you're turning me away
And you'd better believe it when I say
Well I've news for you
I won't be there next time you need me
What's the point?"

The point is to promote our community by posting random animal pictures. *shrugs* Seemed like a good idea at the time.

@arthurb
Cool song. Does not answer my question though.
Also, quoting out of context and then answering it with another quote is generally a bad idea, since it gives plenty of room for interpretations. Say, I could interpret this answer as condescending way of telling me that I'm a wilfully ignorant fool ("never listened") who doesn't even deserve a proper answer. Which would pretty much the exact opposite of the attitude described in the opening post. But I'm sure that you wouldn't be so passive-aggressive on the fly. I mean, why would you? But you see, this is the problem with indirect answers through artsy quotes: it can be interpreted in any way whatsoever.
@Snare: In that case the opening post is kind of a roundabout way to do it.
So have a crocodile-baby. They are seriously cute while being this young:

Of course my post was not intended as a personal attack on you, as you concluded.
