I wish you all the best Matt! I hope that you can overcome this addiction with the help of your friends, I know that this kind of addiction can be very damaging. I was some kind of addicted to masturbating / calling Sexlines some years ago too. I lost a lot of money and one Day I decided that I couldn't go on like that!
@nomeuno: I can understand that you loved his teases - who didnt? But you're post sounds so childish and sex-addicted as can be. I think it is more important to help and support Matt in getting away from his addiction instead of just think about your third Leg! Sorry that this sounds so hard, but I don't like such egoism!

I want to wish you all the best. I'll be sorry to see your teases go, but real life comes first.
I hope your efforts work out well for you.
Maybe you could just have all your teases pointed to an anonymous author or have them remove the ratings from them...hell I don't know, I just hate to see your work lost, but it's 100% your call.
Best of luck,
LNS

So long Matt. Do whatever you think you have to do for yourself. Take the teases down, destroy them, whatever. As someone else said real life comes first.
Good luck.

I urge anybody who believes in "sex addiction" to look at this balanced and well researched page, which puts the arguments very fairly.
http://iml.jou.ufl.edu/projects/Spring0 ... index.html
One of the leading proponents of the idea of "sex addiction" is called Dr Patrick Carnes.
He has a site where you can find out if you are a sex addict, according to him.
http://www.sexhelp.com/sast.cfm
So you needn't bother going there, I had a good look.
To be a sex addict, (in his fearful Universe) you need to say "yes" to 6 out of his 45 questions.
If you were sexually abused as a child, and your parents had sexual problems, and you spend a long time online looking at porn, and you hide your sexual life from your Mum, and you have bought porn online, and you have met someone online and gone on to date them, then you are a sex addict. Supposedly.

Get well man. We'll definitely miss your content, but we can manage. We'll just have to be creative for ourselves for a change ;)
On the subject of the problem existing... I don't believe that its an addiction to sex per se, but I do believe that it is possible to habitually spend so much time on anything that everything else suffers. When that happens, a break is probably the best idea.
Lord knows I've done the same thing with video games before
A break from sex won't hurt anything anyway... I've actually heard of this one thing, its called... uh... what's it again... Chastity? Denial? It's supposed to really enhance your libido and make all kinds of exciting things and feelings happen? Anyone ever heard of that?

I don't come out of the woodwork very often at all, but I think this is a good reason to.
All I can really say to you, submatt, is that I support your actions and I wish you well. I can sympathize with you, although I don't share the same addiction.
On the note of addiction, yes, sexual pleasure can be addictive, and here is why. Sexual pleasure causes your body to release endorphins, your body's natural pain killers. Endorphins are the chemicals which make sex pleasurable. Morphine, the widely known pain killer, is an attempt at a synthetic recreation of the body's natural pain killers. Lots of people are addicted to morphine.

You're obviously a bit of a legend around here, and I'm sorry I didn't get to utilise your teases.
Best of luck!

Enoch:
*Anything* that is pleasurable involves those endorphins. Are we "taking the dog for a walk addicts?" or "getting a letter from my friend addicts?" Why not a "watching-my-sports-team-win Anonymous" group?
It devalues the term "addiction" to apply it to natural human functions, which cause no harm, and which can be stopped at any time without withdrawal.
It also belittles the very real difficulty faced by alcoholics and smokers (etc.) who genuinely want to stop, because they know their pleasure is killing them, but are unable to.

Good luck Matt, I know you have been around since the beginning and your work has helped shaped this community to what it has become. I wish you luck in all you do and my thoughts will be with you as you fight addiction. I know that i loved your teases and looked forward to them. I support your choice of removing them because now that when i looked at them and praised them, i was unknowingly supporting another person's problem. Best in all that you do!
