I should say though.. it's unfair to compare english speakers learning german vs german speakers learning english.. we pretty much start in 5th grade (some even earlier nowadays) and learning german isn't as common in the uk.. i know english people who study german but even though their german is okay and not too bad, it doesn't take long until you know it's not their mother tongue. German is more difficult to learn than english as well, so that doesn't help. But learning languages is always fun.. except for vocabulary.. boring!
